 ԱՄՆ-ը նոր հիմք Է փնտրելու Ռուսաստանի հետ հարաբերությունների համար: Այդ մասին մամուլի ասուլիսում հայտարարել Է ԱՄՆ-ի փոխնախագահ Մայքլ Փենսը՝ ամփոփելով Եվրախորհրդի ղեկավար Դոնալդ Տուսկի հետ Բրյուսելում կայացած հանդիպման արդյունքները, տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը՝ հղում անելով ՏԱՍՍ-ին:
«Մենք նոր հիմքի վրա նոր ուղիներ ենք փնտրելու Ռուսաստանի հետ հարաբերությունների համար»,-ասել Է նա:  
Փենսը նաեւ հայտարարել Է, որ ԱՄՆ-ը շարունակելու Է ջանքեր ներդնել Եվրոպայի պետությունների ինքնիշխանությունն ու տարածքային ամբողջականությունը պաշտպանելու համար:  
Նա պնդել Է, որ «Ռուսաստանը ջանքեր Է գործադրում ուժային ճանապարհով սահմանները փոխելու համար»: «Մենք աջակցելու ենք Լեհաստանին եւ բալթյան երկրներին ուժեղացված առաջապահ ռազմական ներկայության վերաբերյալ ՆԱՏՕ-ի նախաձեռնությունների օգնությամբ»,-հավելել Է Փենսը:
Փենսի խոսքով՝ ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը հավատարիմ Է Եվրամիության հետ սերտ համագործակցությանը: 
«Ես այստեղ եմ, որպեսզի նախագահ Թրամփի անունից հայտնեմ Եվրամիության հետ համագործակցությունը շարունակելու ԱՄՆ-ի հաստատ հանձնառությունը»,-ասել Է նա: 
ԱՄՆ-ը, ԵՄ-ն եւ ՆԱՏՕ-ն պետք Է ուժեղացնեն տեղեկատվության փոխանակությունը, որպեսզի Եվրոպայում իրականացված ահաբեկչական գործողությունները չկրկնվեն, հավելել Է Փենսը: 
Նա նաեւ ասել Է, որ ԵՄ-ի եւ ԱՄՆ-ի տնտեսությունների ամրապնդումը կպահանջի դժվարին որոշումներ: 
«Մեր տնտեսությունների աջակցությունը եւ ամրապնդումը կպահանջեն դժվարին, բայց անհրաժեշտ որոշումներ, քանի որ մեր տնտեսական աճը խաղաղություն եւ բարգավաճում Է նշանակում  բոլորի համար»,- հայտարարել Է Փենսը, ընդգծելով, որ ԵՄ-ն եւ ԱՄՆ-ը կազմում են համաշխարհային ողջ տնտեսության մոտավորապես կեսը:
