Past.am-ի հետ զրույցում ԱԺ փոխնախագահ Էդուարդ Շարմազանովը պատասխանելով հարցին, թե ճիշտ են տեղեկությունները, որ նախագահի ու վարչապետի հարաբերությունները սրվել են, նշեց.«Ես չեմ պատրաստվում մամուլի անհիմն հրապարակումները մեկնաբանել:Նման բան չկա: Կարեն Կարապետյանը մեր նախագահի առաջին տեղակալն է, Սերժ Սարգսյանի գլխավորած Հանրապետական թիմի անդամ է: Կարիք չկա նման բաներ ասել »:
Դիտարկմանը, թե Կարապետյանն ինքն իր խաղի կանոններով է առաջնորդվում, Է. Շարմազանովը պատասխանեց. «Չկա իր որոշում, չկա իմ որոշում, չկա մյուսի որոշում՝ կա Հանրապետական թիմի ընդհանուր որոշում նախագահի գլխավորությամբ»: ԱԺ փոխնախագահը ասաց նաեւ, որ գործող վարչապետին 2018թ.-ից հետո էլ կտեսնենք, սակայն թե ինչ կարգավիճակով կյանքը ցույց կտա:
« Այս պահին նման քննարկումներ չկան: Խնդիրն անձերի մեջ չէ, քաղաքական մեծամասնությունն է որոշում կայացնելու ու ապագա կառավարության ճակատագիրը եւս որոշելու է Հանրապետական կուսակցությունը: Հանրապետականը ՀՅԴ-ի հետ ինչպես որոշի՝ այդպես էլ կլինի»:
Ինչ վերաբերվում է այս ամիսների ընթացքում Կարեն Կարապետյանի կողմից կատարված աշխատանքներին ու շոշափելի արդյունքներին, Է. Շարմազանովն ասաց, որ կառավարության աշխատանքները հրապարակային են, անձամբ չցանկանալով առանձնացնել գոնե մի քանի նկատելի փոփոխություն. « Ընդհանուր առմամբ դրական եմ գնահատում Կարեն Կարապետյանի աշխատանքը: Կան կարճաժամկետ ու երկարաժամկետ ծրագրեր, կապրենք կտեսնենք արդյունքները: Ամեն դեպքում ես գտնում եմ, որ դրական միտում երեւում է»:
