Глава МИД Латвии Кришьянис Кариньш подал заявление об отставке. Об этом сообщил на своем аккаунте в социальной сети X латвийский телеканал Panorama.
Уточняется, что последним днем его работы на этом посту станет 10 апреля. 11 апреля сейм Латвии утвердит кандидатуру нового главы МИД.
Как пишет Baltnews, оставку политика связали со скандалом вокруг растрат госсредств на перелеты частными рейсами. Ей предшествовал разговор с после разговора с премьер-министром Эвикой Силиней.
До этого Кариньш начал заикаться после вопроса о депортации россиян.
Услышав первый вопрос о причинах депортации россиян, Кариньш заявил, что обязательство учить национальный язык страны пребывания есть у резидентов многих стран Европы. Однако когда Себастьян спросил у дипломата о том, почему депортировать будут именно носителей русского языка, тот начал заикаться и попытался назвать это заявление ложным.
