Թեպետ ասիական շատ ազգեր արդեն սկսել են ընդունել արևմուտքի բարոյական արժեքները և կյանքի նկատմամբ ավելի ազատամիտ հայացքներ են ունեն, հատկապես, երբ խոսքը վերաբերում է սեքսու ալ կյանքին, այդուհանդերձ շատ երկրներ դեռևս պահպանողական են։

Կամբոջայի մարդ ու իրավունքների առաջատար կազմակերպություններից մեկի՝ Լիկադոյի վիճակագրական տվյալներով՝ յուրաքանչյուր տարի 13-18 տարեկան հազարավոր կույսեր վաճառվում են Կամբոջիայի մեծահարուստներին կամ արտասահմանցի զբոսաշրջիկներին։

Կամբոջայի կույսերի վաճառքի խնդիրը լուծելն այսօր շատ դժվար է։

Ամենասարսափելին այն է, որ գրեթե բոլոր դեպքերոմ անմեղ աղջիկները վաճառվում են սեփական ծնողների և հարազատների կողմից, իսկ վաճառքի կինը տատանվու մ է 800-ից 4000 եվրոյի սահմաններում։

Հարուստ տղամարդիկ բարձր գին են վճարում ավելի բարետես և գեղեցկադեմ աղջիկների համար։

Կույսերի վաճառքի խնդրի նման տարածումը պայմանավորված է նաև այն հանգամանքով, որ սեքսուալ հարաբերությունը կույսերի հետ 50-ից բարձր տարիքի տղամարդկանց տալիս է մոգական ուժ ավելի երիտասարդ մնալու համար, ինչպես նաև հետագայում որոշ հիվանդություններց ձերբազատվելու երաշխիք։

Կամբոջայի կույս աղջիկների գնորդները հիմնականում մեծահարու ստ քաղաքական գործիչներ կամ գործարարներն են՝ Թայլանդից, Չինաստանից, Սինգապուրից և այլ ասիական երկրներից։
