Հետազոտության ընթացքում նրանք հետեւել են մի խումբ կամավորների կենսակերպին եւ պարզել, որ մարդիկ, որոնք սննդակարգում տանձ են ներառել, 35%-ով հազվադեպ են բախվել անվերահսկելի կիլոգրամների ավելացման խնդրին: Գիտնականները նաեւ նկատել են, որ տանձ սիրող եւ այն հաճախ ուտող կամավորներն ընդհանուր առմամբ մյուսներից ավելի լավ եւ ճիշտ են սնվել. նրանք շաքարով եւ ճարպերով հագեցած մթերքներ ավելի քիչ են օգտագործել:
Ըստ գիտնականների՝ տանձը երկար ժամանակ պահպանում է հագեցվածության զգացողությունը: Միաժամանակ, այս միրգը քիչ ճարպեր, խոլեստերին եւ աղեր է պարունակում: Բացի այդ, տանձի մեջ շատ մանրաթելեր, հակաօքսիդանտներ, հանքանյութեր (մագնիում, պղինձ, կալիում) եւ վիտամիններ կան, որոնք անհրաժեշտ են առողջության համար: Մեկ տանձի մեջ ընդամենը շուրջ 100 կալորիա եւ օրական մարդուն անհրաժեշտ 24% մանրաթել կա: Այսպիսով՝ տանձը կատարյալ միրգ է համարվում նիհարել ցանկացողների համար:
Ավելի վաղ նյութափոխանակության սինդրոմով հիվանդների մասնակցությամբ անցկացված հետազոտությունները բացահայտել էին նաեւ այդ խախտումների ֆոնին տանձի օգտագործման դրական ազդեցությունն օրգանիզմի վրա:
