Բրունո Տորֆսը ամենահայտնի մարդն է Մերիսվիլլի: Նա քանդակագործ է ով մի անգամ մեկնեց Ավստրալիա և որոշեց, որ պետք է մնա այնտեղ: Նա իր ընտանիքի հետ միասին տեղափոխվեց Ավստրալիայի փոքր գյուղ՝ Մերիսվիլլ, այնտեղ ապրելու համար: Բրունոյին ուղղակի գերեցին տարածքի անտառները: Եվ ահա նրա մոտ առաջացավ գաղափար: Նա 5 ամսվա ընթացքում անտառներից մեկում ստեղծում էր հեքիաթների հերոսներին: Այդ անտառը ի պատիվ Բրունոյի ստացավ «Բրունոյի այգի» անվանումը: Այցելուները ուղղակի հիացած են լինում քանդակներից:
