Սեփական կազմվածքի վերաբերյալ մշտական մտահոգությունը կարող է ավելի շատ վնաս տալ, քան օգուտ...Մարդիկ, ովքեր իրենց գեր են համարում, ավելի հաճախ են գիրանում, իսկ իրենց կազմվածքի մասին «օբյեկտիվ» գնահատականից, ինչպես եւ սեփական տեսքի նկատմամբ դժգոհությունից օգուտ քիչ կա: Նման հետաքիքիր հայտարարությամբ են հանդես եկել Լիվերպուլի համալսարանի բրիտանացի հետազոտողները:

«Սեփական կազմվածքի վերաբերյալ մշտական մտահոգությունը կարող է ավելի շատ վնաս տալ, քան օգուտ: Մենք հայտնաբերել ենք, որ մարդիկ, ովքեր համարում են, որ ավելորդ քաշ ունեն կամ ճարպակալումով են տառապում, շատ ավելի մեծ հավանականությամբ են լրացուցիչ կիլոգրամներ հավաքում»,- ասել են գիտնականները

Նրանց եզրակացությունների հիմքում այն գիտական նախագծի տվյալներն են, որը ներառում է ՝ ԱՄՆ–ում եւ Մեծ Բրիտանիայում 14 000 մեծահասակների մասնակցությամբ իրականացված երեք հետազոտությունների արդյունքները: Համադրելով այդ արդյունքները ՝ աշխատության հեղինակները պարզել են, որ այն մարդիկ, ովքեր անընդհատ մտահոգված են իրենց ավելորդ քաշով ու մշտապես մտածում են այդ մասին, ավելի հաճախ են քաշ հավաքում:

Ամենայն հավականությամբ սա այն սթրեսի ուղիղ հետեւանք է, որը պայմանավորված է իրենց ֆիզիկական անկատարության պատճառով առաջացած անհանգստությամբ:

Շատերը նման սթրեսային վիճակում սկսում են ավելի շատ ուտել ու ամենեւին էլ ոչ գազար կամ լոլիկ:

«Սեփական մարմնի մասին մշտական մտքերը մարդու մոտ մեծ լարվածություն են առաջացնում, որը նրանք փորձում են թոթափել սննդի օգնությամբ, ինչն անկասկած էլ ավելի է վատացնում իրավիճակը»,- ընդգծել են հետազոտողները:

Ուշագրավ է, որ գիտնականները առաջին անգամ չեն գտնում գիրության ու ճարպակալման «մտավոր» պատճառի ապացույցներ: Եվ այսպես, կա կարծիք, որ գիրանալու վտանգ ունեն վառ երեւակայությամբ մարդիկ, ովքեր սնունդը պատկերացնում են դրա բոլոր ախորժալի մանրամասներով: Բացի դրանից, սթրեսն ու հոգեբանական այլ խնդիրները նույնպես նպաստում են ավելորդ կիլոգրամներ հավաքելուն:
