Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանն այսօր ընդունել է Բելգիայի Թագավորության խորհրդարանական պատվիրակությանը: ՀՀ նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից հայտնում են, որ ողջունելով հյուրերին և նրանց այցը Հայաստան՝ հանրապետության նախագահը մեծապես կարևորել է միջխորհրդարանական դիվանագիտության դերը միջպետական հարաբերությունների ամրապնդման գործում: Սերժ Սարգսյանը հույս է հայտնել, որ Բելգիայի Թագավորության պատգամավորների այցի հագեցած օրակարգն ավելի կսերտացնի և նոր որակական հարթություն կտեղափոխի հայ-բելգիական միջխորհրդարանական կապերը: Նախագահն ընդգծել է, որ Հայաստանը պատրաստակամ է առավել ամրապնդելու Բելգիայի հետ բարեկամական հարաբերությունները, որոնց նպաստում են նաև մի շարք կարևոր հանգամանքներ. Բելգիան 100 տարի առաջ ապաստան տվեց ցեղասպանությունից փրկված մեր հայրենակիցներին, որոնց սերունդներն այսօր շարունակում են ապրել և արարել այդ երկրում: Բելգիան, լինելով ԵՄ հիմնադիր անդամ, ըստ նախագահի, իր զարգացած տնտեսությամբ կարող է լավ օրինակ հանդիսանալ գրեթե նույնչափ տարածք ունեցող Հայաստանի համար՝ բարեփոխումների իրականացման ճանապարհին: Նախագահի խոսքով, Հայաստանում Բելգիան ընկալվում է որպես ուսանելի զարգացման մոդել:
Սերժ Սարգսյանը կարևորել է, որ Բելգիայի խորհրդարանականները Հայաստան են այցելել մեր երկրի և ժողովրդի համար կարևոր ժամանակահատվածում՝ Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տարելիցի տարում: Նախագահը բարձր է գնահատել 1998թ. Բելգիայի Սենատի կողմից Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչման բանաձևի ընդունումը, նաև կարևորել հունիսին վարչապետ Շառլ Միշելի, իսկ մեկ ամիս անց՝ Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի կողմից Ցեղասպանությունը ճանաչող բանաձևի ընդունումը, որով Բելգիան ամբողջացրել է ճանաչման գործընթացը:
Սերժ Սարգսյանը բարձր է գնահատել բարեկամ Բելգիայի հավասարակշռված դիրքորոշումը ԼՂ հարցում, որը համահունչ է ԵՄ ընդհանուր մոտեցմանը: Նախագահը ողջունել է խորհրդարանականների ցանկությունը՝ այցելել ԼՂ և հիմնահարցի մասին անաչառ տեղեկություններ ստանալ անմիջապես տեղում՝ տեսնելով երկիրը և շփվելով արցախցիների հետ:
Բելգիացի խորհրդարանականներն ընդգծել են, որ կարևոր մի քանի հարցեր միավորում են նաև իրենց՝ Բելգիայի տարբեր մակարդակի խորհրդարանների ներկայացուցիչներին: Այդ հարցերի թվում նրանք նշել են 2015թ. իրենց խորհրդարաններում Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչման ուղղությամբ իրականացված աշխատանքը, ինչպես նաև ԼՂ այցելելու համատեղ ցանկությունը: Պատգամավորները ՀՀ նախագահից ի թիվս այլ հարցերի հետաքրքրվել են ՀՀ սահմանադրական բարեփոխումների գործընթացով: Հանրապետության նախագահը պատասխանել է խորհրդարանականներին հետաքրքրող բոլոր հարցերին, ներկայացրել մեր երկրի մոտեցումները:
