Դեմքն ամբողջությամբ ծածկող հսկայական ուռուցքի պատճառով լեհուհի Ջոանան չէր կարողանում նորմալ շնչել, ծամել եւ խոսել: Երեք տարի առաջ նրան դեմքի փոխպատվաստում են կատարել, իսկ այսօր նա իր դեմքը ցույց է տվել. Ջոանան գերազանց տեսք ունի, կարողանում է խոսել, ծամել եւ նորմալ շնչել:

Ջոանայի մոտ նյարդաֆիբրոմատոզ էր առաջացել, որը հազվադեպ գենետիկական խանգարում է եւ առաջացնում է բարորակ մեծ ուռուցքների աճ: Նրան օգնելու եւ բնականոն կյանք վերադարձնելու համար բժիշկները վիրահատություն են կատարել, որը տեւել է 23 ժամ, վիրահատության ընթացքում փոխվել է նրա դեմքի հյուսվածքների 80 տոկոսը:

Դեմքի եզակի փոխպատվաստումից երեք տարի անց կինը մամուլի ասուլիսի է ներկայացել: Այսօր նրա արտաքինը ցնցող է. նրան ուղղակի անհնար է ճանաչել: Պարանոցին եւ ճակատին լավ նկատելի սպիներից բացի, կինը գործնականում ոչ մի բանով չի տարբերվում իր հասակակիցներից:

Նշենք, որ Լեհաստանում Ջոանան երկրորդ հիվանդն է, ում դեմքի փոխպատվաստում է կատարվել: Առաջին հիվանդը տղամարդ էր, որի դեմքը խեղվել էր քարի մշակման հաստոցի հետեւանքով դժբախտ պատահարից հետո: 27 ժամ տեւած վիրահատությունը կատարվել է դժբախտ պատահարից ընդամենը մի քանի շաբաթ հետո, չնայած նման փոխպատվաստումը սովորաբար նախապատրաստվում է մի քանի ամիս կամ նույնիսկ տարի: Վիրաբույժները վերակառուցել են տղամարդու ծնոտը, քիմքը եւ ակնախնձորները: Նա վիրահատությունից հետո դեռեւս վերականգնվում է:

Նշենք, որ աշխարհում դեմքի առաջին փոխպատվաստումը 2010 թվականի մարտին կատարվել է Իսպանիայում, հիվանդը Օսկար անունով գյուղացի էր, որը որսի ժամանակ պատահաբար կրակել էր դեմքին: Մինչ վիրահատությունը Օսկարը շնչել, կլլել եւ նորմալ խոսել չէր կարողանում:

Ինչ վերաբերում է Ջոանային, ապա նա չի բացառում, որ ապագայում կկատարի նոր պլաստիկ վիրահատություններ, որպեսզի դեմքի սպիները վերացնի:
