ԱՄՆ պաշտպանության դեպարտամենտի բարձրաստիճան պաշտոնյան այցելել է Հայաստան

ԱՄՆ պաշտպանության փոխքարտուղարի տեղակալ դ-ր Մայքլ Քարփենթերը նոյեմբերի 2-ին աշխատանքային այցով գտնվում էր Հայաստանում, որտեղ հանդիպումներ ունեցավ ՀՀ նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանի, ինչպես նաև պաշտպանության նորանշանակ նախարար Վիգեն Սարգսյանի հետ: Այս մասին «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ-ում ԱՄՆ դեսպանատնից:
Բացի Հայաստանի Հանրապետության բարձրաստիճան պաշտոնյաների հետ հանդիպումներից նա նաև տեղում ծանոթացավ հայ-ամերիկյան ռազմական գործակցության շրջանակում իրականացվող ծրագրերին: Նա հանդիպեց այն ամերիկացի զինծառայողներին, ովքեր աջակցում են ենթասպաների դպրոցում առաջին անգամ մարտական բուժակների ուսուցման գործին լծված իրենց հայ գործընկերներին: Ընդ որում, ուսուցման ծրագիրը մշակվել է ամերիկյան ծրագրի նմանությամբ:
Նա նաև այցելեց 12-րդ խաղաղապահ բրիգադի շտաբ և հանդիպում ունեցավ այն զինծառայողների ու հրամանատարների հետ, ովքեր ՆԱՏՕ-ի և ՄԱԿ-ի հովանու ներքո մասնակցել են խաղաղապահ առաքելությունների աշխարհի տարբեր վայրերում:
«Միացյալ Նահանգներն ու Հայաստանը անվտանգության ոլորտում երկարամյա գործակցություն ունեն, որը խարսխված է հայ և ամերիկացի ժողովուրդների բարեկամության վրա: 21-րդ դարում եվրոպական անվտանգության նոր մարտահրավերների լույսի ներքո անչափ կարևոր են Հայաստանի և Միացյալ Նահանգներ համատեղ ջանքերը միտված տարածաշրջանում խաղաղության, կայունության ու բարեկեցության ամրապնդմանը և ամբողջական, ազատ ու խաղաղ Եվրոպայի տեսլականի առաջ մղմանը», - նշեց դ-ր Քարփենթերը:
