41-ամյա ավստրալուհի Գերի Վոլֆը վերջերս ծննդաբերել է իր 10-րդ եւ 11-րդ զավակներին՝ երկվորյակներ Մաթիլդային և Վիոլետին:

Ճանապարհը, որով նա դա կատարել է, հեռու է սովորականից. նա կեսարյան հատման ժամանակ իր որովայնից սեփական ձեռքերով հանել է երեխաներին:

Մինչև այդ նա արդեն կեսարյան հատում արել էր, բայց նա սարսափով է հիշում այդ փորձը. նրան վշտացրել է այն, որ վիրահատության ժամանակ բժիշկները կարող են խոսել դատարկաբանությունների մասին, մինչդեռ այդ պահին լույս աշխարհ է գալիս երեխան:

Այդ ժամանակ նա որոշել է, որ իր զույգ աղջիկների դեպքում ամեն ինչ այլ կերպ է լինելու:

Գերիի մանկաբարձ-գինեկոլոգը երկար ժամանակ չի համաձայնվել նրա գաղափարի հետ, բայց նա իրենն է պնդել, և բժիշկն ստիպված է եղել զիջել՝ նախօրոք ծանոթանալով այդ թեմայով գրականությանը և պարզելով, որ այդպիսի մեթոդի դեպքում վարակ անցկացնելու հավանականությունն այնքան էլ բարձր չէ, որքան կարող է առաջին հայացքից թվալ:

Վիրահատարանի մոտ գտնվող հատուկ լվացարանում լվացվել է ոչ միայն մանկաբարձ-գինեկոլոգը, այլև հենց ինքը՝ Գերին: Այնուհետև նրան երկու զույգ երկար ձեռնոց են հագցրել, նրան դրել վիրահատական սեղանին և էպիդուրալ անզգայացում կատարել:

Նրան պառկեցնելով՝ բժիշկները կնոջ ձեռքերից հանել են ձեռնոցների երկրորդ զույգը և արգելել ձեռքերը շարժել և դրանք ստերիլ վերմակով ծածկված կրծքից վեր բարձրացնել:

Այնուհետև վիրահատությունն սկսվել է՝ շատ սովորական կեսարյան հատում մինչև այն պահը, երբ բժիշկն ասել է, որ կարող է երկարել ձեռքերը և փորձել հանել երեխաներին:

Սկզբում Գերին դուրս է քաշել Մաթիլդային, իսկ մի քանի րոպե անց՝ Վիոլետին:

Գերիի խոսքով, դա զարմանալի պահ էր՝ ասես հենց ինքն է ծննդաբերել երկվորյակներին:

Անսովոր վիրահատությունից հետո նա մի շաբաթ մնացել է հիվանդանոցում, իսկ հետո կարողացել է տուն վերադառնալ՝ մյուս երեխաների մոտ, որոնցից ավագը՝ Միտչելը, արդեն 19 տարեկան է:
