Հայ-ամերիկյան հարաբերությունների 25 ամյակին նվիրված միջոցառում է կազմակերպվել ԱՄՆ դեսպանատանը

Պետական պաշտոնյաների, քաղաքական գործիչների, քաղաքացիական հասարակության ներկայացուցիչների, ուսանողների, դասախոսների, լրագրողների մի բազմազան խումբ նոյեմբերի 9-ին վաղ առավոտյան ՀՀ-ում ԱՄՆ դեսպան Ռիչարդ Միլսի հետ միասին հետևում էին ԱՄՆ նախագահական ընտրություններին: Մինչ Միացյալ Նահանգներից ուղիղ հեռարձակմամբ ներկայացվում էին նախագահական ու կոնգրեսական ընտրությունների արդյունքները, դեսպանության ամերիկացի անձնակազմը և հայ հյուրերը հետևում էին տեղամասերի փակման ու ողջ երկրով մեկ արդյունքների ամփոփման ժողովրդավարական գործընթացին: Այս մասին «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ԱՄՆ դեսպանությունից:
Հրավիրված էին ավելի քան 800 հյուր, ովքեր առիթ ունեցան շփվել ամերիկացի դիվանագետների հետ և քննարկել ընտրություններն այն պահին, երբ տարբեր ամերիկյան հեռուստաալիքներով իրական ժամանակում հաղորդում էին արդյունքները: Բացի կենդանի հեռարձակմանը հետևելու հնարավորությունից ԱՄՆ դեսպանատունն ապահովել էր նաև մի շարք տեղեկատվական նյութեր ԱՄՆ ընտրությունների ու ժողովրդավարական գործընթացների մասին, որոնց մեծ մասը կարող եք գտնել նաև ԱՄՆ դեսպանության կայքում՝ հայերեն ու անգլերեն (https://armenia.usembassy.
Ներկաներին դիմելով դեսպան Միլսը շեշտեց. «Այսօր նշանակալի օր է, որ կրկնվում է ամեն չորս տարին մեկ անգամ. սա այն օրն է, երբ Միացյալ Նահանգները վերահաստատում և տոնում է ժողովրդի կողմից երկրի նախագահ ընտրելու իր 240-ամյա ամուր ժողովրդավարական ավանդույթը: Ինչքան էլ որ բուռն ու հագեցած էր այս տարվա ընտրարշավը, այնուամենայնիվ, ամերիկացիները գիտեն, որ երեկվա քվեարկության արդյունքների հիման վրա 2017թ. հունվարի 17-ին տեղի կունենա իշխանության խաղաղ հանձնում ԱՄՆ Սահմանադրությանն ու օրենքներին համաձայն: Եվ ինչպես անցյալ շաբաթ նշեց պետքարտուղար Քերին՝ մենք այժմ 58-րդ անգամ նախագահի ընտրության ազատ ու արդարացի գործընթացում ենք և դա եղել է 58 անգամ անընդմեջ: Աշխարհի շատ այլ վայրերի համեմատ սա պարզապես ապշեցուցիչ է»:
Նախագահ Օբաման, ում պաշտոնավարման երկրորդ ժամկետն իր ավարտին է մոտենում, իշխանությունը կհանձնի հաջորդ նախագահին, ով հանդիսավոր երդմնակալությամբ պաշտոնը կստանձնի 2017թ. հունվարի 20-ին: Ներկա հայ հյուրերին դեսպան Միլսը հավաստիացրեց, որ Միացյալ Նահանգների և Հայաստանի միջև գերազանց գործընկերությունը, որի ներքո այս տարի կնշվի հայ-ամերիկյան դիվանագիտական հարաբերությունների հաստատման 25-ամյակը, կշարունակի ամուր մնալ՝ անկախ այն հանգամանքից, թե ով կզբաղեցնի Միացյալ Նահանգների նախագահի պաշտոնը. «Միացյալ Նահանգները շարունակում է հավատա րիմ մնալ հարևանների հետ խաղաղ գոյակցող անկախ ու բարեկեցիկ Հայաստանի կայացման մեր ընդհանուր հանձնառությանը և անկախ այն հանգամանքից, թե ով կլինի Միացյալ Նահանգների հաջորդ նախագահը, ԱՄՆ կառավարությունն ու ԱՄՆ դեսպանատունը կշարունակեն մնալ կայուն գործընկեր ու բարեկամ Հայաստանի համար, և միասին մենք կաշխատենք ապահովել ժողովրդավարական ու բարեկեցիկ ապագա, որին արժանի է հայ ժողովուրդը»:
