Հռոմի Ֆրանցիսկոս պապը հորդորել Է «քանդել պատերը եւ կառուցել կամուրջներ», որոնք թույլ տան նվազեցնել անհավասարությունը եւ ընդլայնել ազատությունն ու մարդու իրավունքները, տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը:
«Մենք պետք Է քանդենք բաժանարար պատերը, փորձենք բարեկեցություն ապահովել եւ այնպես անել, որ այն ավելի մեծ տարածում գտնի: Բայց այդ արդյունքին հասնելու համար մենք պետք Է քանդենք այդ պատերը եւ կառուցենք կամուրջներ, որոնք թույլ կտան նվազեցնել անհավասարությունը եւ ուժեղացնել ազատությունն ու հիմնական իրավունքները: Ավելի շատ իրավունքներ եւ ավելի շատ ազատություններ»,-ասել Է քահանայապետը La Repubblica թերթում հրապարակված հարցազրույցում:
Իր գլխավոր անհանգստությունը նա համարել Է փախստականների եւ միգրանտների հիմնախնդիրը, քանի որ հարուստ մարդիկ հանդես են գալիս նրանց դեմ: «Բայց կան նաեւ աղքատներ հարուստ երկրներից, որոնք վախենում են ընդունել աղքատ երկրներից ժամանող իրենց նմաններին: Դա արատավոր շրջան Է, եւ այն պետք Է ճեղքել»,- ընդգծել Է Ֆրանցիսկոսը:
Իսկ պատասխանելով ԱՄՆ-ի նոր նախագահ ընտրված Դոնալդ Թրամփի վերաբերյալ հարցին՝ Հռոմի պապն ասել Է, որ գնահատականներ չի տալիս մարդկանց ու քաղաքական գործիչներին, իրեն հետաքրքրում Է նրանց մոտեցումն աղքատների նկատմամբ, հաղորդել Է ՌԻԱ Նովոստին:
