Հորանջելու հիմնական նպատակը մեր ուղեղը սառեցնելն է՝ գերտաքանալուց կամ գերծանրաբեռնվելուց հետո։

Սովորաբար մենք փռշտում ենք, երբ քթի խոռոչներում հավաքվում են չափից շատ ալերգեններ, միկրոբներ և բացիլներ, և այդպիսով նվազեցվում են վարակվելու կամ ալերգիկ ռեակցիա ունենալու հավանականությունը։

Ձգվել


Ձգվելու ժամանակ մենք նախապատրաստում ենք մեր մարմինը հետագայում սպասվող ֆիզիկական ծանրաբեռնվածությանը։ Բացի այդ՝ լավանում է մեր արյան շրջանառությունը և բարելավվում է տրամադրությունը։

Երբ մենք ուտելիքը շատ արագ և մեծ բաժիններով ենք կուլ տալիս, մեր օրգանիզը առաջացնում է այս ռեակցիան՝ ուտելու գործընթացը դանդաղեցնելու համար։

Սպազմային ցնցումներ քնելուց առաջ


Բոլորի հետ լինում է այնպես, որ քնելու պահին ամբողջ մարմնով կարծես հոսանք անցնի, որն անմիջապես արթնացնում է մեզ։ Սա իրականում պաշտպանական ռեակցիա է։ Քնելու ժամանակ մարդու շնչառությունը և արյան շրջանառությունը դանդաղում է։ Նույնը տեղի է ունենում նաև մահվան ժամանակ, և ուղեղը երբեմն շփոթում է այս 2 գործընթացները և փորձում «վերակենդանացնել» մեզ քնելու պահին։

Մատերի կնճռոտվելը խոնավությունից


Մատերի այսպիսի ձևափոխումը շատ կարևոր նշանակություն ունի։ Երբ օրգանիզմը հասկանում է, որ գտնվում է թաց և խոնավ միջավայրում, ապա հասկանում է նաև որ մեծ է վտանգը սահելու և ընկնելու։ Այդ իսկ պատճառով մատերը ձևափոխվում են՝ հարթ մակերեսների հետ առավել ամուր կապ ապահովելու համար։

Հիշողության կորուստ


Հիշողության կորուստ գրանցվում է տհաճ և սարսափելի պատահարներից հետո։ Մեր ուղեղը ջնջում է այդ հիշողությունները՝ հոգեկան խնդիրներից խուսափելու համար։

Փշաքաղված մաշկ


Այսպիսի մաշկի գլխավոր նպատակն այն է, որ կանգնեցի օրագնիզմի սառչելու գործընթացը և օգնի, որ օրգանիզմը վերադառնա նախընտրելի ջերմաստիճանին։

Արտասուքը օգնում է չեզոքացնել աչքի մեջ հայտնված օտար մարմիններին և միկրոբներին։ Բացի այդ՝ արտասուքը հանդիսանում է օրգանիզմի էմոցիոնալ պաշտպանության մեթոդներից մեկը։ Գիտնականները պնդում են, որ սթրեսային իրավիճակներում արտասվելը լարվածության մեկ այլ օջախ է ստեղծում և շեղում մարդուն այն ցավից, որը նա զգում էր վայրկյաններ առաջ։
