Վրաստանի Հանրային հեռարձակող ընկերության տնօրեն Գեորգի Բարատաշվիլին որոշել է հեռանալ զբաղեցրած պաշտոնից։

«Ես այս որոշումը վաղուց էի կայացրել, բայց տարվա ընթացքում շատ իրադարձություններ են եղել, այդ թվում ընտրություններ, ու ես չէի կարող հեռանալ, իսկ հիմա դրա համար լավագույն ժամանակն է։ Հիմա իմ կյանքում հայտնվել է մի նոր բան, ես հեռանում եմ, չնայած կարող էի դեռ երկու տարի էլ մնալ այս պաշտոնին»,- հայտնել է Բարատաշվիլին «Իմեդի» հեռուստատեսության եթերում։

«Վրաստանի հանրային հեռարձակողը» պետական ֆինանսավորմամբ երկու հեռուստաալիքների ու երկու ռադիոկայանների միավորում է։ Այն կառավարում է Հոգեբարձուների խորհուրդը, որի գլխավոր տնօրենին նշանակում են վեց տարի ժամկետով։

Բարատաշվիլին նշանակվել է գլխավոր տնօրեն 2012-ի դեկտեմբերին, ստանալով Հոգեբարձուների խորհրդի 13 անդամներից ութի ձայնը։ Մինչ այդ Վրաստանի հանրային հեռարձակող ընկերությունում տարբեր պաշտոններ է զբաղեցրել։

2013-ին Հոգեբարձուների խորհուրդը երկու անգամ Բարատաշվիլուն հեռացրել է պաշտոնից, լրատվական ծառայության խմբագրական քաղաքականությանը միջամտելու համար, սակայն Թբիլիսիի քաղաքային դատարանը երկու անգամն էլ վերականգնել է նրան պաշտոնում՝ չհայտնաբերելով հեռացման համար որեւէ հիմք։

Ըստ գործող օրենսդրության՝ ՎՀՀ-ի գլխավոր տնօրենը ընտրվում է մրցույթով ու նշանակվում մրցույթի արդյունքների ամփոփումից մեկ ամիս հետո։
