Հնդկաստանում երկաթգծային վթարի հետեւանքով զոհվածների թիվը հասել է 116-ի, փրկարարները շարունակում են աշխատանքը՝ չնայած արդեն մութն ընկել է, հայտնում է NDTV հեռուստաալիքը։

Տուժածների թիվը մոտ 200 է։ Փրկարարները ենթադրում են, որ զոհերի ու տուժածների թիվը կարող է աճել, քանի որ իրենց դեռ չի հաջողվել մտնել ռելսերից դուրս եկած գնացքի մի քանի կուպե։

Ինդոր -Փաթնա երթուղուն հետեւող ուղեւորատար գնացքի 14 վագոն գծերից դուրս է եկել Ուտտար Փրադեշ նահանգում։ Ողբերգությունը տեղի է ունեցել առավոտյան ժամը 3։00-ին, երբ ուղեւորների մեծ մասը քնած էր։

Փրկարարական աշխատանքներին մասնակցում է մի քանի հարյուր մարդ, այդ թվում զինվորականներ ու ոստիկաններ, ներգրավվել է ծանր տեխնիկա, այդ թվում ամբարձիչներ։ Վիրավորներին տեղափոխում են մոտակա հիվանդանոցներ, տեղում աշխատում է շտապ օգնության 30 մեքենա։ Վթարի պատճառները դեռ չեն հաստատվել, սակայն հիմնական վարկածն է համարվում գծերի վնասվածքը։

Հնդկաստանի տրանսպորտի նախարար Սուրեշ Պրաբխուն արդեն հայտնել է, որ երկաթգծային ընկերության ղեկավարությունը մանրակրկիտ հետաքննություն է անելու եւ խստորեն պատժելու է մեղավորներին։ Նա նաեւ հայտնել է, որ գերատեսչությունը զոհվածների ընտանիքներին 50 հազար ռուպիի չափով միանվագ օգնություն է հատկացնելու ու 50 հազար ռուպի էլ ՝ տուժածներին։ Ֆինանսական օգնություն են խոստանում նաեւ մի շարք նահանգների իշխանություններ, որոնց բնակիչները զոհվել են այդ վթարի հետեւանքով, նաեւ՝ կենտրոնական կառավարությունը։

Հնդկաստանում, որը 1․2 մլրդ բնակչություն ունի, երկաթգծային հաղորդակցությունը ամենածանրաբեռնվածներից մեկն է աշխարհում, օրական գնացքով երթեւեկում է մոտ 20 մլն ուղեւոր։
