Աշխարհում ավելի քան 18 միլիոն՝ մարդու վիրուսային անբավարարության վիրուսով (ՄԻԱՎ) ախտահարվածներ հակառետրովիրուսային բուժում են ստանում, ասված Է ՄԱԿ-ի ՄԻԱՎ/ՁԻԱՀ (ձեռքբերովի իմունային անբավարարության համախտանիշ) միացյալ ծրագրի (ՅՈՒՆԷՅԴՍ) հաղորդագրության մեջ, տեղեկացնում Է«Արմենպրես»-ը:
Այս տարվա առաջին վեց ամսում բուժում ստացող՝ ՄԻԱՎ-ախտահարված մարդկանց թիվն աճել Է 1 միլիոնով, հաշվարկել են ՄԱԿ-ում: Տակավին հինգ տարի առաջ բուժում ստացողների թիվը կիսով չափ պակաս Էր:
Առկա տվյալներով՝ հատուկ բուժում Է ստանում ՄԻԱՎ-ով վարակված 910 հազար երեխա: Երեխաների շրջանում վարակումների թիվը, ՄԱԿ-ի տվյալներով՝ նվազում Է: Օրինակ՝ 2010 թվականից մայրերից նորածին երեխաների վարակումների դեպքերի թիվը նվազել Է 51 տոկոսով:
Ընդամենն աշխարհում ՄԻԱՎ-ով ապրում Է շուրջ 36,7 միլիոն մարդ:
ՄԱԿ-ում նաեւ նշել են, որ բուժումը երկարացնում Է մարդկանց կյանքը: 2015 թվականին 50 տարեկանից բարձր 5,8 միլիոն մարդ Է ապրել ՄԻԱՎ-ով. դա պատմական առավելագույնն Է: 2020 թվականին, ՄԱԿ-ի կանխատեսմամբ՝ նրանց թիվը կհասնի 8,5 միլիոնի, հաղորդել Է BBC-ն:
