Հայաստանի պետական լեզուն հայերենն է, լեզուն մեր անկախության հիմնարար արժեքներից մեկն է և «Լեզվի մասին» օրենքը փոփոխության ենթակա չէ: Այդ մասին կառավարության նիստից հետո լրագրողների հետ զրույցում նշեց ՀՀ կրթության և գիտության նախարար Լևոն Մկրտչյանը՝ անդրադառնալով ռուսերեն լեզուն որպես պետական երկրորդ լեզու ճանաչելու հնարավորության մասին հարցին և լրագրողներին խնդրեց նման հարց չբարձրÕ �ցնել. «ՀՀ-ում այդպիսի հարց չի կարող գոյություն ունենալ»:
«Ցանկանում եմ մեկընդմիշտ ֆիքսենք. ՀՀ պետական լեզուն հայերենն է, մեր լեզուն մեր անկախության հիմնարար արժեքներից մեկն է և «Լեզվի մասին» օրենքը փոփոխության ենթակա չէ: Երկրորդ հարցն օտար լեզուների զարգացման հիմնախնդիրն է, որովհետև եթե ուզում ենք ունենալ գիտակրթական պոտենցիալ ունեցող տարածք, արդյունք, մեր երկրի քաղաքացիները պետք է մայրենի լեզվի փայլուն տիրապետումից զատ ունենան օտար լեզուների իմացություն: Եվրոպական երկրներում, բացի սեփական լեզվից, առկա է ռեալ երեք լեզվի գործածություն, մենք գնում ենք առնվազն երկու օտար լեզվի խորացման ուղղությամբ՝ ամբողջական կիրառման երկու հարթությամբ. հանրակրթական ընդհանուր դպրոցներում լեզվի կրթության բարելավում և խորացված ուղղություններով, որովհետև ունենք օրինակ ֆրանսերեն, գերմաներեն թեքումով դպրոցներ»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի փոխանցմամբ, ասաց նախարարը՝ ավելացնելով, որ այս երկու հարցերը պետք է իրարից տարանջատել:
Լևոն Մկրտչյանի խոսքով՝ ցանկացած օտար պաշտոնյա, պաշտոնական անձ ցանկացած կարծիք կարող է հայտնել, սակայն մենք ունենք օրենսդրություն, այն աշխատում է և այն փոփոխելու որևէ հիմք չկա:
«Օտար լեզվին կարգավիճակ տալու որևէ խնդիր գոյություն չունի, գոյություն ունի եղած լեզուների ուղղությամբ խորացված գնալու հարց: Ռուսերենը ՀՀ-ում նույն կարգավիճակում է, ինչ մյուս օտար լեզուները: Ռուսաց լեզվի պարագայում ունենք մի կարևոր դաշտ, որովհետև գտնվում ենք ԵԱՏՄ-ում, նույն ռազմատեխնիկական համագործակցության դաշտում, որտեղ ռուսերենը միջպետական հաղորդակցման լեզու է: Սա մեծացնում է ՀՀ-ում ռուսերենն իմանալու անհրաժեշտությունը: Ռուսերենն անհրաժեշտ է խորացնել և մենք շահագրգռված ենք դրանում, բայց կարգավիճակային խնդիր չի կարող լինե լ»,- ընդգծեց Մկրտչյանը:
Օրերս Ռուսաստանի ԱԳՆ հատուկ կարգադրությունների դեսպան Էլեոնորա Միտրոֆանովան հայտարարել էր, որ ՌԴ-ն պետք է ջանք գործադրի նախկին ԽՍՀՄ պետություններում ռուսերենին օրենսդրական հատուկ կարգավիճակ տալու ուղղությամբ:
