Հետազոտությունները ցույց են տալիս, որ միջին վիճակագրական մարդը իր հեռախոսին դիպչում է օրական 150 անգամ։ Ամերիկյան գիտնականների խումբը պատահականորեն ընտրված 51 հեռախոսների վրա հայտնաբերել են մոտ 7000 տիպի բակտերիաներ, որոնցից շատերը թեև անվտանգ են եղել, բայց հանդիպել են նաև վտանգավորները։

Հեռախոսների վրա հայտնաբերված Enterococcus [արտաթորանքի բաղկացուցիչ] և pseudomonas bacteria [հանդիպում են կենդանիների և հողի մեջ], կոչվող բակտերիաները երկուսն էլ հանդիսանում են վարակիչ հիվանդությունների հարուցիչ։ Ստեղնաշարով հեռախոսները շատ ավելի վտանգավոր են, քանի ոչ ունեն ճեղքեր։ Այսպիսով մաքրեք ձեր հեռախոսները ամեն օր՝ ցանկալի է հակաբակտերիալ անձեռոցիկներով։
