 ՆԱՏՕ-ի խորհրդարանական վեհաժողովում հայաստանյան պատվիրակության անդամ Միքայել Մելքումյանը մանրամասներ ներկայացրեց վեհաժողովի անվտանգության և էկոնոմիկայի հանձնաժողովի նիստից: Նոյեմբերի 25-ին ՀՀ ԱԺ-ում լրագրողների հետ հանդիպմանը Մելքումյանն ընդգծեց, որ նիստին մասնակցել է նաև Թուրքիայի փոխվարչապետ և էկոնոմիկայի նախարար Մեհմե դ Շիմշեքը, որին հայ պատգամավորը հարց է ուղղել: Պատգամավորն ընդգծեց, որ Շիմշեքը հանդես է եկել զեկույցով, որում ներկայացրել է Թուրքիայում տնտեսական բարեփոխումների գործընթացը:

«Ես հարց ուղղեցի, թե ինչպե՞ս ստացվեց, որ մի երկիր ապրում է բարեփոխումներ, բայց 1992 թվականից հայ-թուրքական սահմանը փակ է։ Հարցրեցի՝ ինչպե՞ս են դա գնահատում, ապա խոսեցի այն մասին, որ այս տարվա ապրիլյան քառօրյա պատերազմից հետո Թուրքիան ոչ միայն հստակ իրավական և քաղաքական գնահատական չտվեց այդ գործընթացին, այլև պրովոկացիոն և միակողմանի գնահատականներ հնչեցրեց։ Երրորդ հարցս վերաբերում էր նրան, որ օբյեկտիվորեն այսօր Թուրքիայի տնտեսությունը քայքայվում է։ Միայն ռուս-թուրքական ժամանակավոր կոնֆլիկտի ընթացքում ամբողջ տեքստիլ արտադրությունը , գյուղատնտեսությունը ուղղակի սթրեսային կազմալուծված վիճակում հայտնվեցին», - «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ՝ ներկայացրեց Մելքումյանը: 

Պատգամավորն ընդգծեց, որ ի պատասխան իր հարցերի՝ Շիմշեքը միայն նշել է, որ Ղարաբաղի նկատմամբ իրենք առանձնահատուկ մոտեցում ունեն։ Միքայել Մելքումյանը հավելեց, որ հաջորդ օրը նույն հարցերն ուղղել է Թուրքիայի արդյունաբերության և տեխնոլոգիայի նախարար Ֆարուք Օզլուին, ով նույնպես չի պատասխանել իր հարցերին։
