Գիտնականները պնդում են, որ մարդու հոգեվիճակը կախված է նրա ընդունած սննդից: Որոշակի մթերքներ, օրինակ՝ յոգուրտը, լոլիկը և պանիրը, կարող են փոխել մեր հոգեկան աշխարհը:
Լոլիկ: Լոլիկը դանդաղեցնում է ուղեղում թթվային գործընթացները, որոնք հանգեցնում են հոգեկան անհավասարակշռության: Հոգեկան խանգարումների ռիսկին ավելի քիչ են ենթարկվում այն մարդիկ, ովքեր շատ են լոլիկ ուտում:Լոլիկի քիմիական բաղադրության մեջ մտնում է լիկոպին կոչվող հակաօքսիդանտը, որը խանգարում է ուղեղում թթվային գործընթացներին:
Պանիր: Պանրի մեջ առկա նյութերը մարդկանց դրդում են առատաձեռնության: Գիտնականները վաղուց գիտեին, որ մարդուն առատաձեռնության կարելի է դրդել քիմիական ձևով, բայց թե ինչպե՞ս՝ ոչ ոք չգիտեր: Հետազոտությունները ցույց են տվել, որ պանրի, ձկան և գետնընկույզի մեջ առկա մեծ քանակությամբ տրիպտոֆանը մասնակիցներին դրդել է նվիրաբերել իրենց գումարը բարեգործության նպատակով:
Ճարպեր: Դիետոլոգները վաղուց են նկատել, որ ոչ ճիշտ սնվելն ագրեսիայի ծագման պատճառներից մեկն է: Հետազոտությունները ցույց են տվել, որ կարտոֆիլ ֆրին և բուրգերները կարող են ազդել մարդու հոգեվիճակի վրա:
Հետազոտության ժամանակ հարցումներ են անցկացվել մոտ 900 մարդու շրջանում:Հետազոտության ընթացքում պարզվել է, որ այն մարդիկ, որոնց օրակարգում հաճախ են հանդիպում յուղոտ մթերքներ, ավելի անհամբեր են, ավելի նյարդային և ագրեսիվ են:
