Սիրիական հակամարտության քաղաքական կարգավորումը կախված կլինի ԱՄՆ նոր վարչակազմի քայլերից եւ Վաշինգթոնի ու Մոսկվայի միջեւ փոխըմբռնումից: Այս մասին ասել է ՄԱԿ գլխավոր քարտուղարի՝ Սիրիայի հարցով հատուկ բանագնաց Ստեֆան դե Միստուրան, փոխանցում է Al Jazeera-ն: Ժնեւում նրա ելույթի տեքստը հրապարակել է ՄԱԿ մամուլի ծառայությունը:
Անդրադառնալով Սիրիայում քաղաքական գործընթացին՝ Դե Միստուրան նշել է . «Ինչպես գիտեք, հիմա ԱՄՆ-ում անցումային շրջան է, եւ մենք պետք է սպասենք, որ տեսնենք, թե ինչպիսին կլինի նորընտիր նախագահի քաղաքականությունն ու առաջնայնությունները»: Նա հիշեցրել է, որ, երբ ԱՄՆ-ը եւ Ռուսաստանը ինչ-որ բանի շուրջ պայմանավորվում են, ապա համապատասխան կերպով դրան հարմարվում են նաեւ տարածաշրջանային խաղացողները:
ՄԱԿ հատուկ բանագնացի խոսքով՝ գործող տարածաշրջանային խաղացողների, մասնավորապես՝ Իրանի, Սաուդյան Արաբիայի եւ Թուրքիայի, բայց նաեւ Եգիպտոսի, Հորդանանի եւ Իրաքի համար հիմա հատկապես խթան է առկա: «Մենք պետք է տեսնենք, թե ինչպիսին կլինի ԱՄՆ նոր վարչակազմի քաղաքականությունը եւ թե հնարավոր կլինի արդյոք ԱՄՆ-ի եւ Ռուսաստանի միջեւ փոխըմբռնումը», - ասել է Ստեֆֆան դե Միստուրան:
