Թեթչերը ճանաչվել Է վերջին 70 տարվա ամենաազդեցիկ կինը

Մեծ Բրիտանիայի նախկին վարչապետ Մարգարեթ Թեթչերը BBC Radio 4-ի Women’s Hour («Կանանց ժամ») հաղորդման վարկածով դարձել Է վերջին յոթ տասնամյակների ամենաազդեցիկ կինը:
Առավել ազդեցիկ կանանց վարկանիշը զուգադիպեցվել Է հաղորդման 70-ամյակին, այն կազմել Է յոթ մարդուց բաղկացած փորձագետների խումբը:
«Թեթչերը 20-րդ դարի ամենակուլտային քաղաքական դեմքերից մեկն Էր ինչպես կանանց, այնպես Էլ տղամարդկանց շրջանում»,-ասել Է վարկանիշի կազմողը՝ լրագրող Էմմա Բառնեթը:
Նա ընդգծել Է, որ վարկանիշում առաջատարությունն առնչություն չունի վարչապետի պաշտոնում Թեթչերի գործունեության գնահատականի հետ, այլ հիմնվում Է այն բանի վրա, թե ինչպես Է «իշխանության գլուխ կանգնած կնոջ նրա օրինակն ազդել մյուս կանանց վրա»:
Թեթչերը Մեծ Բրիտանիայի վարչապետն Է եղել 1979-ից մինչեւ 1990 թվականը: «Երկաթե լեդին» առաջին կինն Է դարձել, որը գլխավորել Է եվրոպական պետության կառավարությունը:
Ցուցակի երկրորդ տեղում հայտնվել Է ավելի քիչ հայտնի բրիտանուհի Հելեն Բրուքսը, որը հիմնել Է Միացյալ Թագավարության կանանց համար հակաբեղմնավորիչ միջոցների մատակարարման ծառայությունը: Բառնեթի խոսքով՝ «նա կանանց հսկողություն Է նվիրել իրենց մարմինների վրա»:
