Աղջիկը թաքնվեց մահճակալի տակ, որ իմանա սիրելին իրեն դավաճանում է, թե ոչ. այն, ինչ տեղի ունեցավ շոկային էր...

Երկար տարիների համատեղ կյանքից հետո մի օր աղջիկը նկատում է, որ իր և ամուսնու հարաբերությունները սառել են: Նա սկսում է ինքն իրեն հարցեր տալ. հավատարի՞մ է նա ինձ, սիրու՞մ է, ի՞նչ կանի նա, եթե ես լքեմ նրան...

Որպեսզի ստուգի իր սիրելիի արձագանքը, նա որոշեց նամակ գրել այն մասին, որ ամեն ինչ վերջացած է, որ նրան հոգնեցրել են ամենօրյա կռիվները, սերը վաղուց մարել է և այլն... Նրան թողնել, իհարկե, նա չէր պատրաստվում:

Ամեն ինչ պատրաստ էր: Նամակը դրված էր տեսանելի տեղում: Մնում էր սպասել տղային և թաքնվել անկողնու տակ, որպեսզի տեսնի տղայի արձագանքը:

Գալով տուն, տղան միանգամից կարդաց նամակը և ուրախությունից թռչկոտեց: Այնուհետև զանգահարելով ինչ-որ մեկին, ասում էր. «Ես գալիս եմ, պատկերացնու՞մ ես, նա գլխի ընկավ, որ ես իրեն դավաճանում եմ: Փառք Աստծո, ես ազատվեցի նրանից: Վերջապես հանգիստ խղճով քեզ հետ կլինեմ»:

Աղջիկը շոկի մեջ էր: Ինչպե՞ս կարող էր նա սխալվել: Այսքան տարի ապրել մի մարդու հետ, ով իրեն մի գրամ անգամ չի գնահատել: Երբ տղան դուրս եկավ տանից, աղջկա աչքերից արցունքները հոսեցին... Վեր կենալով, նա նույն տեղում տեսավ մի ուրիշ նամակ: Մտածելով, որ հրաժեշտի նամակ է,  վերցրեց ու սկսեց կարդալ.  «Այ հիմարիկ, ես քեզ շատ եմ սիրում, ուղղակի մյուս անգամ իմ գլխին կատակներ անելիս համոզված եղիր, որ ոտքերդ մահճակալի տակից չեն երևում :) Գնացել եմ խանութ, քիչ հետո կգամ: Սիրում եմ քեզ...»
