Երկարատև «դադարից» հետո Սիրիայում քրդերի կողմից գլխավորված «Սիրիական դեմոկրատական ուժեր» (ՍԴՈՒ) ընդդիմադիր կառույցը վերսկսել է հարձակումը «Իսլամական պետություն» (ԻՊ) ահաբեկչական կառույցի սիրիական կենտրոնակայանի՝ ալ-Ռակկա քաղաքի դեմ: Ամերիկյան օդուժի կողմից սիրիական ցամաքում հիմնական դաշնակից հանդիսացող ՍԴՈՒ-ին ցուցաբերված առարկայական աջակցության արդյունքում ալ-Ռակկա նահանգի արևմտյան հատվածում իսլամականներից հաջողվել է գրավել 5 բնակավայր:

Սիրիայի տարածքում վերջին 3 ամիսներին ծավալվող ռազմագործողությունները, որոնց հիմնական թատերաբեմը Հալեպն ու Պալմիրան էին, որոշակիորեն մոռացության էին մատնել նաև ալ-Ռակկայի ազատագրության համար սկսված գործողությունը, որն ինչպես կտրուկ կերպով մեկնարկեց, այնպես էլ դադարեցվեց:

Եվ ներկա պայմաններում, երբ Հալեպի ազատագրման գործընթացից էականորեն տուժել է սիրիացի ընդդիմադիրների գլխավոր արևմտյան հովանավորի՝ ԱՄՆ-ի հեղինակությունը, գուցե փորձ է կատարվում փոքրիկ լոկալ հաջողությունների միջոցով նոր զարգացումների ֆոն ստեղծել. նույն համատեքստում կարելի է դիտարկել նաև Պալմիրայում առաջին անգամ ամերիկյան օդուժի կողմից ԻՊ-ի դիրքերի դեմ իրականացված հարձակման իրողությունը:

Մինչդեռ մյուս կողմից, գնահատելով հատկապես ընթացիկ ամսվա կտրվածքով կոալիցիոն ուժերի կողմից իրականացված ավիահարվածների ակտիվությունն ու արդյունավետությունը, կարելի է ենթադրել, որ Հալեպի ազատագրմամբ սիրիական հակամարտության՝ որակապես նոր փուլ թևակոխման պայմաններում Վաշինգտոնում, կարծես, դարձյալ փոխվել են ԻՊ-ի հետ կապված հաշվարկները:
