Ռուսաստանը սիրիական ճգնաժամի կարգավորման շուրջ երկխոսություն Է վարում Մերձավոր Արեւելքի մի շարք երկրների, այդ թվում՝ Սաուդյան Արաբիայի, Քաթարի, Եգիպտոսի, Հորդանանի հետ: Այդ մասին դեկտեմբերի 27-ին հայտարարել են ՌԴ արտաքին գործերի նախարարու թյունում:

«Այն պայմաններում, երբ Օբամայի վարչակազմը չկարողացավ կատարել ահաբեկիչներից «չափավոր» ընդդիմության սահմանազատման շուրջ ձեռք բերված պայմանավորվածությունները, մարտական գործողությունների դադարեցմանը եւ քաղաքական գործընթացի աշխուժացմանն ուղղված միջոցների իրականացման գործում առանձնակի դեր խաղաց Ռուսաստանի, Իրանի Իսլամական Հանրապետության եւ Թուրքիայի Հանրապետության եռակողմ փոխգործակցությունը, կանանավոր երկխոսությունը Սաուդյան Արաբիայի, Եգիպտոսի, Քաթարի, Արաբական Միացյալ Էմիրությունների, Հորդանանի, տարածաշրջանի ա յլ երկրների հետ՝ սիրիական հակամարտությանը վերջ դնելու նպատակով»,-ասված Է 2016 թվականի արտաքին քաղաքական հիմնական արդյունքների վերաբերյալ հաղորդագրության մեջ, որը հրապարակված Է ՌԴ ԱԳ նախարարության կայքում: 
Փաստաթղթում նշվում Է, որ «դրա հետ մեկտեղ շարունակվել են առանց նախապայմանների, ՄԱԿ-ի Անվտանգության խորհրդի 2254 բանաձեւի հիման վրա եւ ուշադրության առնելով Ռուսաստանի եւ ԱՄՆ-ի համանախագահությամբ ստեղծված Սիրիայի աջակցման միջազգային խմբի որոշումները, ինկլյուզիվ միջսիրիական երկխոսության գործարկման քաղաքական-դիվանագիտական գործընթացի շրջանակներում խաղաղ կարգավորման առաջխաղացմանն ուղղված ջանքերը», հաղորդել Է ՌԻԱ Նովոստի գործակալությունը:
