Sony Music-ը հրապարակել է իր ներողությունը ամերիկացի հանրահայտ երգչուհի Բրիթնի Սփիրսի մահվան մասին կեղծ լուրեր տարածելու համար: Այդ լուրերը հայտնվել էին ընկերության պաշտոնական Twitter-ում, քանի որ հաքերները կոտրել էին Sony Music Entertainment-ի էջը:
«Sony Music-ը ներողություն է խնդրում Բրիթնի Սփիրսից և նրա երկրպագուներից նման թյուրիմացության համար»,-նշված է ընկերության տարածած հաղորդագրության մեջ:
Sony Music Global-ի Twitter-յան էջում նշված է եղել, Բրիթնի Սփիրսը մահացել է դժբախտ պատահարի հետևանքով: «Հանգչի խաղաղությամբ, Բրիթնի Սփիրս», - ասվում էր թվիթում: Ավելացված էր նաև հեշթեգ` #RIPBritney և տեղեկատվություն երգչուհու կյանքի մասին. 1981-ից 2016թ.-ը, սակայն` ըստ հաքերների վարկածի:
Նմանատիպ թվիթ հայտնվել էր նաև երաժիշտ Բոբ Դիլանի պրոֆայլում: Ավելի ուշ երկու գրառումներն էլ հեռացվեցին: Sony Music-ից հայտնել են, որ OurMine հաքերային խմբի կողմից հարձակման էին ենթարկվել նաև ընկերության մի քանի Twitter-յան էջեր: Ինչպես հաղորդում է ВВС-ն, մի քանի օր առաջ պարզվել էր, որ նույն այդ խմբի հաքերները կոտրել էին Netflix և Marvel Entertainment ընկերությունների Twitter-յան բլոգերը:
