ԱՄՆ Կոնգրեսը «վճռական» դիմադրություն ցույց կտա, եթե նորընտիր նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը փորձի չեղարկել Բարաք Օբամայի վարչակազմի օրոք Ռուսաստանի դեմ վերջերս սահմանված պատժամիջոցները, զգուշացրել է Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի հետախուզության հարցերով կոմիտեի անդամ, դեմոկրատ Ադամ Շիֆը: Ավելին՝ նա չի բացառել, որ օրենսդիրները կխստացնեն հակառուսական սահմանափակող միջոցառումները: Այս մասին հայտնում է DW-ն: 

«Դուք ականատես կլինեք, թե ինչպես դեմոկրատները եւ հանրապետականները՝ ներառյալ Սենատի զինված ուժերի հարցերով կոմիտեի ղեկավար, հանրապետական Ջոն Մակքեյնը եւ Հարավային Կարոլինայից ընտրված սենատոր Լինդսի Գրեմը, նաեւ այլ քաղաքական գործիչներ համատեղ կոշտ պատժամիջոցների փաթեթ կներկայացնեն, քանի որ Բարաք Օբամայի վարչակազմի ձեռնարկած  քայլերը բավարար չեն եղել Ռուսաստանին կանգնեցնելու համար»,- ABC-ի հետ հարցազրույցում հայտարարել է Շիֆը:

Ադամ Շիֆը Դոնալդ Թրամփին քննադատել է ամերիկյան հետախուզության ներկայացուցիչների հայտարարությունները կասկածի տակ դնելու փորձերի համար, որոնք ռուս հաքերներին մեղադրել են 2016-ի նոյեմբերի 8-ի նախագահական ընտրություններին միջամտելու փորձերի մեջ:

«Եթե նա ցանկանում է նախագահի պաշտոնին հեղինակություն ունենալ, պետք է դադարի այդպիսի հայտարարություններով հանդես գալ: Նա պետք է դադարեցնի հետախուզության համայնքին նվաստացնելուց: Նա դեռ պետք է դիմի նրանց օգնությանը: Նա պարզապես ստիպված կլինի դա անել»,- ընդգծել է Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի անդամը:
