Չեչնիա, 1995 թվական։ Պատերազմը ամբողջ թափով ընթացքի մեջ էր։ Ինչ որ մեկը հայրենիքն էր պաշտպանում, մյուսը` վրեժ լուժում զոհված հարազատների համար, երրորդը` կռվում էր հանուն Ալլահի, իսկ ռուսական կառավարությունը` աշխարհին իր ռազմական հզորությունը ցույց տալու և սասանված հեղինակությունը վերականգնելու համար։ Մարդիկ, ռմբակոծությունից պաշտպանվելու համար, պատսպարվում էր նկուղներում։ Վերջին հաշվով ուրիշ գնլու տեղ էլ չունեին։ Ամեն օր, առավոտից–իրիկուն քաղաքներն ու գյուղերը ռմբակոծվում էին։ Բայց մի օր գյուղի վրա նետված ռումբերից մեկը չպայթեց։ Այն նետվել էր ինչպես մնացյալ հարյուրավոր ռումբերը, նույնիսկ չիմանալով, թե ուր կընկնի։ Այն ծակել էր տան կղմինդրե տանիքը, ընկել տան մեջ, բայց չէր պայթել։ Երբ սարսափած բնակիչները հայտնաբերեցին այն, դրա վրա գրություն նկատեցին. «Օգնեցի, ինչով կարող էի. Սաշա»։ Պարզվեց դրա միջից հանել էին պայթուցիկ նյութի լիցքը։
