Ամենայն հայոց կաթողիկոս Գարեգին Բ-ն ուղերձ է հղել ՀՀ անկախության տոնի առիթով։
Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնի տեղեկատվական համակարգի փոխանցմամբ, ուղերձում ասվում է.
«Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնից Անկախության տոնի բերկրաշատ առիթով Հայրապետական Մեր օրհնությունն ու շնորհավորանքն ենք բերում համայն մեր ժողովրդին` ի Հայաստան եւ ի սփյուռս աշխարհի:
Պատմական ու նվիրական է այս օրը: 1991 թվականին մեր ժողովուրդը իրականացրեց անկախ ու ազատ ապրելու դարավոր իր երազանքը եւ հաղթահարելով պատերազմի ու շրջափակման դժվարությունները՝ բարձր գիտակցությամբ ու աննահանջ պայքարով ամրացրեց հայրենի պետականության հիմքերը:
Անկախության տոնը հրավեր է վերարժեւորելու մեր անցած ուղին՝ նոր կորովով ու եռանդով, հայրենվեր գործերով շենացնելու մեր երկիրը եւ այս տոնի պանծալի խորհրդով միշտ նորոգ պահելու մեր ուխտը առ հայրենին՝ ունկնդիր աստվածաշնչյան խոսքին, թե` ամենքս կոչված ենք ազատության եւ սիրով միմյանց ծառայելու (Գաղ. 5:13):
Մեր աղոթքն է, որ Աստված Իր Ամենախնամ Սուրբ Աջի հովանու ներքո միշտ անվրդով ու խաղաղ պահի մեր հայրենիքը եւ առատապես օրհնի, զորակից ու օգնական լինի հավատավոր մեր ժողովրդին՝ արգասավորելով հանուն մեր երկրի հզորացման բոլոր ջանքերը:
