Գիտնականների պնդմամբ՝ գիշերը գինի խմելը կարող է ավելորդ քաշից ազատվելու լավ միջոց լինել: Վաշինգտոնի պետական համալսարանի 2015 թվականին արված ուսումնասիրությունը ցույց է տվել, որ գինին ու քաշի կորուստը կապված են՝ շնորհիվ ռեսվերատրոլ կոչվող նյութի:
Կարմիր գինու մեջ հայտնաբերված այդ բաղադրանյութը, պարզվում է, օգնում է փոխարկել «սպիտակ ճարպը»՝ «բեժ ճարպով», իսկ վերջինս ավելի է հեշտ է այրվում: Ինչ խոսք, գայթակղիչ նորություն է, սակայն պետք չէ շտապել և մի շիշ կարմիր գինի դնել անկողնու մոտ: Բժիշկները խորհուրդ են տալիս զգուշանալ չափից շատ ալկոհոլ օգտագործելիս, քանի որ դրա մեծ քանակությունը կարող է վնասակար ազդեցություն ունենալ օրգանիզմի վրա: Բացի այդ, կան ռեսվերատրոլ նյութի ավելի օգտակար աղբյուրներ:
