Հունվարի 9-ը հայ կինոռեժիսոր, սցենարիստ, ՀԽՍՀ, ՈՒԽՍՀ
Սերգեյ Փարաջանովը ծնվել է 1924 թվականի հունվարի 9-ին Թիֆլիսում: Ավարտելով միջնակարգ դպրոցը՝ Փարաջանովն ընդունվում Թիֆլիսի
Այնուհետև սովորում է Մոսկվայի կոնսերվատորիայում` Նինա Դորլիակի դասարանում։ Այնտեղ սովորելուն զուգահեռ՝ Փարաջանովը 1946 թվականին ընդունվում է նաև Մոսկվայի Գերասիմովի անվան կինեմատոգրաֆիայի համառուսական պետական ինստիտուտի ռեժիսուրայի ֆակուլտետ։
Փարաջանովի դիպլոմային աշխատանքը կարճամետրաժ «Անդրիեշ» ժապավենն էր։ Չորս տարի անց նա ռեժիսոր Յակով Բազելյանի հետ Ալեքսանդր Դովժենկոյի անվան կինոստուդիայում նույն սյուժեով, նույն անվամբ ֆիլմի լիամետրաժ տարբերակն է նկարահանում։
Նրա ստեղծագործությունները բարձր են գնահատել ժամանակի մեծագույն ռեժիսորներ Ֆեդերիկո Ֆելինին, Անդրեյ Տարկովսկին և այլք:
Հանրությանը հայտնի են նրա «Նռան գույնը», «Մոռացված նախնիների ստվերները», «Արա Գեղեցիկ» և այլ ֆիլմերը: Փարաջանովն արժանացել է միջազգային, հայրենական պարգևների և բազմաթիվ մրցանակների:
