Վիկտորիանական դարաշրջանում մեծ տարածում ուներ լուսանկարչությունը։ Այս շրջանում լուսանկարչությունը մի քանի այլասերված փորձարկումների ենթարկվեց՝ մարդիկ լուսանկարում էին գլխատված մարդկանց, իրենց մահացած բարեկամներին ու նույնիսկ ուրվականներին։
4tololo.ru-ն գրում է, որ ուրվականներին առաջին անգամ փորձել է լուսանկարել անգլիացի Ուիլյամ Հոուփը։ Նրա լուսանկարները վերջերս հայտնվել են Անգլիայի ցուցասրահներից մեկում։
Ուիլյամն առաջին անգամ սկսել է հետաքրքրվել նման լուսանկարչությամբ այն բանից հետո, երբ իրեն թվացել է, որ ընկերոջը լուսանկարելիս նաև ուրվականին է լուսանկարել։ Հետագայում նա լրջորեն սկսել է զբաղվել այս գործով ու ստեղծել է ուրվականներ լուսանկարել ցանկացողների խմբակ՝ Crewe Circle անունով։
Ուիլյամի աշխատանքը մեծ քննադատությունների է ենթարկվել, սակայն նա չի դադարել զբաղվել դրանով։ Իր խմբի հետ նրանք լուսանկարում էին մարդկանց, որոնք ցանկանում էին որևէ կապ հաստատել իրենց մահացած հարազատների հետ։
Հավանաբար, սա պարզապես խաբեություն էր, սակայն նրանք հավատարիմ հետևորդներ ունեին, որոնք մինչև վերջ հավատում էին ուրվականներին լուսանկարելու հնարավորությանը։
