Ասանժը հրաժարվել Է ԱՄՆ արտահանձնվելուց

WikiLeaks-ի հիմնադիր Ջուլիան Ասանժը, որը խոստացել Էր համաձայնել ԱՄՆ արտահանձնմանը, եթե այդ երկրի իշխանությունները ներում շնորհեն կազմակերպության նախկին իրազեկիչ Չելսի Մենինգին, հայտարարել Է, որ չի վերադառնա Միացյալ Նահանգներ, քանի որ պատժաժամկետի զգալի կրճատումն այն չԷ, ինչն ինքը խնդրում Էր: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, հայտնել Է Associated Press գործակալությունը՝ հղում անելով Ասանժի փաստաբան Բարրի Փոլոքին:
«Ոչ մի կասկած չկա, որ Բարաք Օբաման այն չի արել, ինչ խնդրում Էր Ասանժը»,-ասել Է Փոլոքը: Նրա խոսքով WikiLeaks-ի հիմնադիրը նկատի Է ունեցել Մենինգի անհապաղ ազատումը եւ որ նրան չպետք Է մեղավոր ճանաչեին եւ դատապարտեին տասնյակ տարիների ազատազրկման:
Այդուհանդերձ, Twitter-ում WikiLeaks-ի Էջում հաղորդագրություն Է հայտնվել այն մասին, որ Ասանժը երջանիկ կլինի վերադառնալու ԱՄՆ, եթե երաշխավորեն նրա իրավունքների պահպանումը, նույնիսկ չնայած այն բանին, որ Սպիտակ տունն այժմ պնդում Է, որ Մենինգը գործարքի առարկա չի եղել:
Սպիտակ տան մամուլի ծառայությունը հունվարի 17-ին հայտնել Է, որ ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Բարաք Օբաման իր պաշտոնաթողությունից երեք օր առաջ մեղմացրել Է WikiLeaks կայքի իրազեկիչ Չելսի Մենինգի նկատմամբ դատավճիռը, որը 35 տարվա ազատազրկման Էր դատապարտվել գաղտնի տեղեկությունների հանձնման համար: Դրա շնորհիվ Մենինգը ազատ կարձակվի այս տարվա մայիսի 17-ին:
Ամերիկյան բանակի շարքային Բրեդլի Մենինգը ձերբակալվել Է 2010-ի մայիսին: Նրան մեղադրել են շուրջ 700 հազար գաղտնի փաստաթղթերի հանձնման մեջ, որոնք վերաբերում են Իրաքում եւ Աֆղանստանում ԱՄՆ-ի ռազմական գործողություններին:
2013 թվականի օգոստոսին Մենինգը դատապարտվել Է 35 տարվա ազատազրկման: Բանտում նա հասել Է դատական վճռի այն մասին, որ իրավաբանորեն համարվում Է կին Չելսի անունով: Բանտում գտնվելու ընթացքում, Մենինգի փաստաբանների խոսքով՝ դատապարտյալն ինքնասպանության երկու փորձ Է արել:
2012 թվականից Ասանժը թաքնվում Է Մեծ Բրիտանիայում Էկվադորի դեսպանատանը, որպեսզի խուսափի Շվեդիա արտահանձնվելուց, որտեղ նրան կասկածում են բռնաբարության եւ սեռական ոտնձգությունների մեջ: Իր մեղքը լրագրողը ժխտում Է եւ երկյուղում Է, որ Շվեդիայի իշխանություններին հանձնվելուց հետո Ստոկհոլմն իրեն կարտահանձնի ԱՄՆ, հաղորդել Է «Ինտերֆաքս» գործակալությունը:
