Երևանի կենդանաբանական այգին բաց է ամեն օր

Երևանի կենդանաբանական այգին չի փակվում և ոչ մի օր, նույնիսկ ցրտաշունչ ձմռանը: Անկախ եղանակային պայմաններից և պաշտոնական աշխատանքային ժամանակացույցից՝ կենդանիների խնամքով զբաղվող մասնագետները աշխատում են ամեն օր, իսկ մայիսի 1-ն արդեն ավանդույթ դարձած խորհրդանշական օր է, որն ազդարարում է այգու տարեշրջանի բացումը:
Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին Երեւանի կենդանաբանական այգուց, այստեղ շատ քիչ կենդանատեսակներ կան, որոնց ցուրտ եղանակին այցելուները տեսնել չեն կարող` 148 տեսակի կենդանիներից չեն ցուցադրվում միայն 17-ը` 6 տեսակ պրիմատ, 6 տեսակ թութակ, 2 տեսակ կրիա, պատագոնյան մարա, փիղը և գետաձին:
Մի շարք արևադարձային կենդանատեսակներ, որոնց թվում` ընձառյուծը, յագուարը, կոկորդիլոսները, կատվային լեմուրներն ու նրբագի սուրիկատները, գտնվում են ձմեռանոցներում (հաշվի առնելով իրենց կենսաբանական առանձնահատկությունները), սակայն նոր նախագծված ազատավանդակների շնորհիվ այցելուները կարող են հետևել կենդանիների վարքագծին նույնիսկ ձմռանը:
Առյուծները, գայլերն ու արջերը նույնպես ցուցադրվում են տարվա բոլոր եղանակներին: Վերջինները, բացօթյա տարածքներից բացի ունեն նաև ձմեռանոցներ, որոնց դռները երբևէ չեն փակվում` կենդանիներին ելումուտի ազատ ընտրության հնարավորություն ընձեռելով:
Երևանի կենդանաբանական այգու ստեղծման գաղափարը տանում է 20-րդ դարի 30-ական թվականներ, բայց այն իրականություն է դառնում միայն 1940-ին`ՀԽՍՀ Գերագույն խորհրդի որոշմամբ: Ի վերջո, 3 հեկտար տարածության վրա հիմնվում է Երևանի կենդանաբանական այգին: Սկզբնական շրջանում կենդանաբանական այգում միայն 2 տասնյակ կենդանիներ ու թռչուններ կային, որոնք ձեռք էին բերվել Երևանում անցկացված 12-րդ պետական կենդանաբանական ցուցահանդեսում:
