 Հայ-վրացական հարաբերությունները բարիդրացիական են, սակայն պետք է հասկանալ, որ դրանք սահմանափակ են` հաշվի առնելով երկու երկրների արտաքին քաղաքականության և տնտեսական ինտեգրման տարբեր ուղղությունները: Հունվարի 19-ին լրագրողների հետ հանդիպմանը նման կարծիք հայտնեց Վրաստանի հարցերով փորձագետ Ջոնի Մելիքյանը` անդրադառնալով հայ-վրացական հարաբերությունների մակարդակին: «Բայց, այնուամենայնիվ, կան ոլորտներ, ո րտեղ Հայաստանը և Վրաստանը կարող են սերտ համագործակցել»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ` ասաց Մելիքյանը:

Փորձագետը մանրամասնեց, որ երկու երկրները շարունակում են ակտիվ աշխատանքները առևտրատնտեսական  կապերը խորացնելու, առևտրաշրջանառության ծավալները մեծացնելու ուղղությամբ: «Հայաստանը և Վրաստանը շարունակում են սերտ համագործակցությունը զբոսաշրջության ոլորտում, ինչի արդյունքները նույնպես տեսանելի են: Համագործակցության կարևոր և հեռանկարային ուղղություն է նաև էներգետիկ ոլորտը»,- նշեց նա:

Անդրադառնալով Վրաստանում հայկական համայնքի խնդիրներին` նա նշեց, որ խնդիրներ իսկապես կան, սակայն դրանք չլուծվող հարցեր չեն: Նա հուսով է, որ Հայաստանի և Վրաստանի իշխանությունները կկարողանան գտնել արդյունավետ ուղիներ հայկական համայնքի խնդիրները կարգավորելու համար: Ջոնի Մելիքյանի խոսքով` հայկական համայնքը ևս պետք է ակտիվ լինի և պահանջատեր այն իշխանությունից, որին ընտրել է, քանի որ Հայաստանը չի կարող բոլոր հարցերում միջամտել` հաշվի առնելով, որ կարող են լինել դեպքեր, երբ Վրաստանը դա կհամարի միջամտություն իր ներքին գործերին:
