Սիրիայի նախագահի վաղաժամկետ ընտրություններ կամ դրանց անցկացման ժամկետներ չեն քննարկվելու ընդդիմության հետ առաջիկա բանակցություններում: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, հայտարարել Է Սիրիայի նախագահ Բաշար Ասադը ճապոնական TBS հեռուստաալիքին տված հարցազրույցում:
«Նախագահի պաշտոնաթողությունը, ինչպես եւ նրան ընտրելը ազգային հարց Է եւ վերաբերում Է յուրաքանչյուր սիրիացու… ուստի այդ հարցը չի քննարկվում ընդդիմության կամ որեւԷ կողմնակի պետության հետ… Դա Սիրիայի հարցն Է, որը կապված Է Սահմանադրության հետ: Ընտրությունների ժամկետը կամ դրանց վաղաժամկետ անցկացումն այժմ բանակցությունների սեղանին չեն»,-ասել Է նախագահը:
Ասադը նշել Է, որ ինքը՝ որպես պետության ղեկավար, չի փախել, երբ Սիրիան սպառնալիքների Էր բախվում: Նրա խոսքով՝ ճգնաժամի ժամանակ պետության ղեկավարը պարտավոր Է իր ձեռքը վերցնել գործերն ու լուծել ճգնաժամը եւ միայն դրանից հետո կարող Է ասել՝ ցանկանում Է ինքն արդյոք հեռանալ կամ մնալ, եւ այդժամ սիրիական ժողովուրդը կկարողանա ասել իր «կողմ» կամ «դեմ» լինելու մասին, հաղորդել Է ՌԻԱ Նովոստին:
