«Ժողովուրդ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

«Ապրիլի 2-ին կայանալիք խորհրդարանական ընտրություններին ընդառաջ` Հայաստանում հետաքրքիր ներքաղաքական իրավիճակ է ուրվագծվում: ՀՀԿ-ին իր անդամակցությունը դադարեցրեց այդ կուսակցության առանցքային դեմքերից մեկը` ԱԺ նախկին նախագահ, ՀՀ նախկին վարչապետ Հովիկ Աբրահամյանը: Պատճառների մասին Աբրահամյանը ոչինչ չի հայտնել` խոստանալով պարզաբանումներ տալ այսօր: Բայց մեծ հաշվով կատարվածը մեկ բառով կարելի է ուշագրավ որակել: Ինչո՞ւ, որովհետեւ Հովիկ Աբրահամյանը 1998թ. սկսած եղել է գործող իշխանության ամենաառանցքային հենասյուներից մեկը՝ պետական կառավարման համակարգում զբաղեցնելով ամենաբարձր պաշտոնները. նա եղել է տարածքային կառավարման նախարար, փոխվարչապետ, ԱԺ նախագահ (այն էլ` երկու անգամ), վարչապետ: Բացի այդ` համապետական վերջին բոլոր ընտություններում ինքն է ղեկավարել ՀՀԿ-ի ու Սերժ Սարգսյանի նախընտրական շտաբները (բնականաբար, համակարգելով իշխանությունների օգտին արված ընտրակեղծարարությունը) եւ, վերջապես, նա կուսակցության ԳՄ անդամ էր, քաղաքական հանձնաժողովի նախագահը: Բայց մյուս կողմից տեղի ունեցածը սպասելի էր, քանի որ վերջին տարիներին իշխանության ներսում գնալով խորացել էին հակասությունները, եւ Սերժ Սարգսյան-Հովիկ Աբրահամյան հարաբերությունները որքան էլ արտաքուստ բարեհամբույր էին, ներքուստ միմյանց նկատմամբ անվստահություն կար: Եւ, վերջապես, Աբրահամյանը դարձավ քավության նոխազ. խորհրդարանական ընտրություններին ընդառաջ հասարակական դժգոհությունները մեղմելու նպատակով նա պարտադրված անակնկալ հրաժարական ներկայացրեց եւ ըստ շրջանառվող խոսակցությունների՝ ՀՀԿ-ում մնալու դեպքում չէր լինելու այդ կուսակցության համամասնական ընտրացուցակում: Ի դեպ, ինչպես տեղեկացրել էինք «Ժողովուրդ» օրաթերթի նախորդ համարում՝ առաջիկա օրերին ՀՀԿ-ն լքելու մասին կհայտարարեն մի շարք կարկառուն դեմքեր եւս` ուղեւորվելով դեպի «Ծառուկյան» դաշինք»:
