Մեծ Բրիտանիայի կառավարությունը մտադիր չէ չեղարկել երկիր այցելելու համար Թրամփին ուղարկված հրավերքը։ «Մեծ Բրիտանիան ու Միացյալ նահանգները սերտ փոխհարաբերություններ ունեն ու պետք է շարունակեն համագործակցել»,- հայտնել է երկրի վարչապետ Թերեզա Մեյի պաշտոնական ներկայացուցիչը,  փոխանցում է DW–ն։

«Հրավերքը ուղարկվել է, ու ամերիկյան կողմն ընդունել է այն»,- նշել է Դաունինգ սթրիթի ներկայացուցիչը, պատասխանելով հանրագրի մասին հարցին, որի հեղինակները կոչ են անում չեղարկել Դոնալդ Թրամփի պաշտոնական այցը Մեծ Բրիտանիա՝ նրա իմիգրացիոն քաղքականության պատճառով։ Բրիտանիայի խորհրդարանի կայքում տեղադրված հանրագիրն արդեն ստորագրել է ավելի քան մեկ միլիոն մարդ։

Հանրագրի տեքստում ասվում է, որ «Թրամփի սեքսիզմն ու կոպտությունը նրան զրկում են թագուհու ու Ուելսի արքայազնի կողմից ընդունելության արժանանալու իրավունքից», դրա համար էլ 2017-ին ծրագրված ԱՄՆ նախագահի այցը պետք է չեղարկել։ Ընդ որում հանրագրի հեղինակները չեն վիճարկում այլ ձևաչափով Միացյալ թագավորություն Թրամփի այցելության հնարավորությունը։

Ավելի վաղ Թերեզա Մեյը տարածել էր հայտարարություն, որում անհամաձայնություն էր հայտնել մուսուլմանական յոթ երկրներից միգրանտների մուտքը ԱՄՆ արգելելու մասին Դոնալդ Թրամփի որոշման հետ։ Իսկ Բրիտանիայի արտգործնախարար Բորիս Ջոնսոնը իր Twitter–ում գրել էր, որ «մարդկանց ազգային նշանով բաժանելը սխալ է ու պառակտում է մարդկանց»։
