Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.
Հունվարի 26–ին ՀՀԿ խորհրդի նիստում ՀՀ նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը հայտարարեց. «Գիտեք՝ մայր գետերը, առաջընթաց են ապահովում իրենց հոսքի ողջ երկայնքով, կյանք են տալիս, հաց են տալիս, ջուր են տալիս, և այն առվակները, որոնք պոկվում են մայր գետից և կարճ ժամանակում նորից չեն մտնում նույն հոսքի մեջ, չորանում ու գնում են: Սա՛ է բնության օրենքը, և որևէ մեկը մեզնից չի կարող հակադրվել բնության օրենքներին, մենք կարող ենք փորձել կառավարել, կարգավորել, բայց, ըստ էության, այսպես է լինելու»:
Գետ է կոչվում ջրային բնական հոսքը, որը հոսում է դեպի օվկիանոս, ծով, լիճ կամ այլ գետ։ Որոշ դեպքերում գետը կարող է անցնել հողի մեջ կամ չորանալ, մինչև այլ ջրային օբյեկտի հասնելը։
Առու է կոչվում ոչ մեծ մշտական կամ ժամանակավոր ջրային բնական հոսքը, որը հոսում է դեպի գետ, ծով, լիճ, այլ առու, վտակ կամ կարող է անցնել հողի մեջ կամ չորանալ, մինչև այլ ջրային օբյեկտի հասնելը։
Ոռոգման առու է կոչվում մարդու կողմից որոշակի նպատակով արհեստականորեն ստեղծած ջրային հոսքը, որը սկիզբ է առնում առուից, վտակից, գետից, ծովից կամ լճից:
Նախագահը ՀՀԿ–ն համեմատում է «Մայր գետի» հետ (հավանաբար ի նկատի ունենալով, որ մնացած կուսակցությունները գետակներ ու առվակներ են) և, այո՛, նա առաջընթաց է ապահովում իր հոսքի երկայնքով, կյանք է տալիս, հաց է տալիս, ջուր է տալիս: Ո՞ւմ: Իհարկե ոռոգման առուներին: Գետը առաջանում է բազմաթիվ առուների (կուսակցության շարքային անդամների) հոսքի համաձուլման միջոցով: Ի դեպ, եթե այդ առուները պոկվեն, քչանան, չորանան, ապա դա կհասցնի գետի փոքրացմանը, անգամ անցնելը հողի մեջ կամ չորանալը: Նույնը կարող է լինել նաև այն դեպքում, եթե Ոռոգման առուները շատանան, կամ սկսեն շատ ջուր վերցնել գետից: Երկու պրոցեսն էլ ի դեպ հիմա կատարվել է ՀՀԿ–ի հետ:
Ենթագիտակցորեն նախագահը ճիշտ է արտահայտվել: Միայն թե պետք է նշվեր, որ խոսքը վերաբերում է ոռոգման առուներին և ջրանցքներին, որոնք իրոք կչորանան, եթե չսնվեն մայր գետից, իսկ գետը գետ դարձնող սնող առուները, եթե անգամ մայր գետն է անհետանում` շարունակում են հոսել դեպի ինչ–որ տեղ և միանալ այլ առուների ու գետակների, երբեմն իրենք կարող են դառնալ մայր գետ, քանի որ Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում Նյուտոնի ձգողականության օրենքը դեռևս գործում է:
