 Վայոց ձորում գտնվող Շատիվանքի վանական համալիրը կործանման եզրին է: Ուխտագնացության վայր համարվող այս հուշարձանի  ծածկի սալաքարերը թափվել ու խախտվել են, տանիքի առանձին մասեր էլ դարձել են վտանգավոր, փլուզվել է բրգաձեւ պարսպի մի հատվածը: «Արմենպրես»-ի հետ զրույցում Շատին համայնքի ղեկավար Տիգ րան Խուդոյանը վստահեցրեց, որ խնդրով դիմել են պատկան մարմիններին, բայց ոչ մի արձագանք: «Պատմական այս հուշարձանը, որը նաեւ բացառիկ է իր կառուցվածքով, քայքայվում եւ կորցնում է իր բովանդակային մասը»,-ասաց համայնքի ղեկավարը:

ՀՀ մշակույթի նախարարի տեղակալ Արեւ Սամուելյանը մեզ տեղեկացրեց, որ 2009 թվականին իրականացվել է Շատիվանք վանական համալիրի մոնիթորինգ, և նշյալ հուշարձանը գտնվում է ոլորտի պատասխանատու գերատեսչության ուշադրության կենտրոնում: «ՀՀ մշակույթի նախարարությունն իրականացնում է պատմամշակութային հուշարձանների ամենամյա մոնիթորինգ, որի արդյունքում ձևավորվում է առավել վտանգված և արժեքավոր հուշարձանների ցանկ: Պետական բյուջեի հատկացումների հաշվին 2017-2019 թթ. միջնաժամկետ ծախսային ծրագրով 2018 թ. նախատեսված է գումար հուշարձանի վերականգնմա ն գիտանախագծային փաստաթղթերի մշակման համար»,-ասաց նա:

Նախարարի տեղակալը ցավով արձանագրեց, որ բյուջեի հատկացումները սակավ են, և անգամ մեծ ցանկության դեպքում հնարավոր չէ անդրադառնալ բոլոր հուշարձանները մասնակի փլուզումից փրկելու խնդրին: «Դրանք կարող են իրականացվել միայն երկարաժամկետ ծրագրերի արդյունքում, չնայած հնարավորության դեպքում անպայմանորեն անդրադառնալու ենք այս հուշարձանին»,-վստահեցրեց Արեւ Սամուելյանը:

Շատիվանքը գտնվում է Շատին գյուղից 4 կմ արևելք` ձորամիջի բարձրադիր գոգավորության վրա: Համաձայն Ստ. Օրբելյանի վկայության` այն կառուցվել է 929թ. Բագրատունի Աբաս Ա թագավորի գահակալության շրջանում: Բաղկացած է եկեղեցուց և վանական միաբանության բնակելի ու այլ շինություններից:

 1671-1674թթ. ընթացքում եկեղեցին վերակառուցվել է ջուղայեցի գրասեր վաճառական Մահտեսի Հակոբի ջանքերով: Եռանավ բազիլիկ եկեղեցի է` իր բոլոր հատկանշական կառույցներով: Ունի երեք մուտք, 8 լուսամուտ: Եկեղեցու արևմտյան մասում պահպանվել են գավթի հետքեր: Պատերի մեջ վերանորոգումների ժամանակ օգտագործել են հին շենքի սրբատաշ քարեր, խաչքարեր, ներսից՝ փոքր, անտաշ քարեր: Խորանը ժամանակին սվաղվել է և վրան արվել են որմնանկարներ: Որմնանկարներից մեկի նկարի մի մասն է պահպանվել: Վանքի ընդարձակ բակը տեղ-տեղ շրջապատված է բրգաձև պարսպով, որի հարավային հատվածում պահպանվել են վանական համալիրի օժանդակ շենքեր: 35 բնակելի և այլ երկհարկ շենքեր տարածված են հարավային պարսպի ողջ երկայնքով: Պարսպից դուրս են գտնվում իր կառուցման ինքնատիպությամբ աչքի ընկնող ջրաղացի ավերակները: Շատինի վանքը Վայոց ձորի երկարատև կյանք ունեցող վանքերից է:
