Սիրիական հակամարտության ողջ ընթացքում Հայաստանի դիրքորոշումը եղել է հստակ ու ճիշտ: Փետրվարի 3-ին լրագրողների հետ հանդիպմանը նման կարծիք հայտնեց «Հայացք» կիրառական քաղաքականության և հետազոտությունների վերլուծական կենտրոնի փորձագետ Արփինե Հովսեփյանը: «Հայաստանը հակամարտության ողջ ընթացքում պահպանել է հավասարակշված դիրքորոշում և շարունակել է քաղաքական հարաբերությունները Սիրիայի հետ: Միևնույն ժամանակ, Հայաստանը հաջողությամբ իրականացրել է սիրիահայերին աջակցություն տրամադրելու առաքելությունը: Հալեպում Հայաստանի հյուպատոսությունը միակ դիվանագիտական առաքելությունն էր, որ շարունակեց իր գործունեությունը»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ` ասաց Հովսեփյանը:

Փորձագետը հիշեցրեց, որ Հայաստանը, բացի Սիրիայի հետ քաղաքական ջերմ հարաբերությունները պահպանելուց, նաև մարդասիրական օգնություն է տրամադրել թե Սիրիայում ապրող հայերին, թե ընդհանրապես սիրիացիներին: Նա հավելեց, որ սիրիական հակամարտության ընթացքում Հայաստանն ընդունել է 24 հազար սիրիահայերի և փախստականների ընդունելու առումով Եվրոպայում երրորդ երկիրն է համարվում:

Եզրափակելով խոսքը` Արփինե Հովսեփյանն ընդգծեց, որ Սիրիայի հակամարտության առնչությամբ Հայաստանը աղմկահարույց հայտարարություններ չի արել, սակայն իր դիրքորոշումն արտահայտել է գործնական քայլերի միջոցով:
