Ֆրանսիական ոստիկանությունը խուզարկություններ Է անցկացնում Սենատի շենքում պետական միջոցների հնարավոր հափշտակման գործի՝ այսպես կոչված «Պենելոպա Ֆիյոնի գործի» հետաքննության շրջանակներում: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, հայտնել Է Europe 1 ռադիոկայան:
Նրա տվյալներով՝ կոռուպցիայի, ֆինանսական եւ հարկային հանցագործությունների դեմ պայքարի կենտրոնական բյուրոյի երեք աշխատակիցներ փետրվարի 3-ի առավոտյան Ֆրանսիայի խորհրդարանի վերին պալատ են ժամանել փաստաթղթեր առգրավելու նպատակով, որոնք կարող են վերաբերվել Ֆիյոնի տիկնոջ աշխատավարձի վճարումներին: Նաեւ քննիչները փնտրում են փաստաթղթեր, որոնք կարող Էին համանման փաստեր նշել «Հանրապետականներ» կուսակցությունից երկրի նախագահի պաշտոնի թեկնածուի երկու զավակների վերաբերյալ: Հունվարի 30-ին Ֆրանսուա եւ Պենելոպե Ֆիյոնները առանձին-առանձին հարցաքննվել են քննիչների կողմից: Հարցաքննությունը շարունակվել Է մի քանի ժամ:
Ավելի վաղ Ֆրանսիայի բնակիչների գրեթե 70 տոկոսը ցանկություն Է հայտնել, որ Ֆրանսուա Ֆիյոնը հրաժարվի երկրի նախագահի պաշտոնի համար պայքարից՝ իր կնոջ՝ Պենելոպայի հետ կապված սկանդալի պատճառով: Harris interactive սոցիոլոգիական ծառայության հարցման մասնակիցները կարծում են, որ «Հանրապետականներ» կուսակցության թեկնածուի տեղը պետք Է զբաղեցնի Ֆրանսիայի նախկին վարչապետ եւ արտաքին գործերի նախկին նախարար Ալեն Ժյուպեն: Ըստ որում հարցվածների սոսկ 29 տոկոսն Է կարծում, թե «Հանրապետականները» կկարողանան շահել ընտրությունները, եթե իրենց թեկնածուն լ ինի Ֆիյոնը: Մյուս թեկնածուով «Հանրապետականների» հաղթանակին հավատում Է հարցվածների 57 տոկոսը:
Ավելի վաղ Le Canard enchaine թերթը հայտնել Էր, որ Պենելոպա Ֆիյոնը մի քանի տարի շարունակ համարվել Է Ֆրանսուա Ֆիյոնի օգնականն Ազգային ժողովում եւ ստացել սահմանված ռոճիկը, բայց ըստ որում «ոչ մի կարգի կոնկրետ պարտականություններ չի կատարել»: Նրան վճարվել Է 500 հազար եվրո գումար, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
