Շվեյցարիան պատրաստ ենք աջակցել հայ-թուրքական հարաբերությունների կայունացմանը, եթե կողմերը դրա համար պատրաստակամություն հայտնեն: «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ՝ փետրվարի 10-ին լրագրողների հետ զրույցում այս մասին ասաց Հայաստանում Շվեյցարիայի դեսպան Լուկաս Գասերը:
«Հայ-թուրքական հարաբերությունների խնդիրն այն է, որ դրանք գործնականում բացակայում են: Շվեյցարիայի տեսանկյունից սա բնական իրավիճակ չէ երկու երկրների միջեւ, որոնք երկարաժամկետ համատեղ պատմություն եւ սահման ունեն: Չպետք է մոռանալ, որ տնտեսական զարգացման տեսանկյունից ամենաբնական առեւտրային հարաբերությունները հենց հարեւանների հետ են լինում: Շվեյցարիան էլ այս դասը քաղել է իր պատմության ընթացքում, մեր հարաբերությունները մեր հարեւանների հետ միշտ չէ, որ հեշտ են եղել, անցել ենք վեճերի, անգամ պատերազմների միջով, բայց այսօր մենք հ ասել ենք բաց սահմանների թե առեւտրաշրջանառության մեջ, թե անհատական շփումներում: Սա այն բնականոն իրավիճակն է, որ կցանկանայինք տեսնել հայ-թուրքական հարաբերություններում: Մենք ավելի քան պատրաստ ենք աջակցելու դրան, եթե նրանք պատրաստ կլինեն»,- ընդգծեց դեսպանը:
