Պոլսո Հայոց պատրիարքարանի հոգևոր խորհրդի նախագահ, Սահակ եպիսկոպոս Մաշալյանը հայտարարել է իր պաշտոնից հրաժարական տալու մասին` հայտնելով, որ այդ որոշման մեղավորը պատրիարքական փոխանորդ Արամ արքեպիսկոպոս Աթեշյանն է: Այս մասին տեղեկացնում է «Ակոս» պարբերականը:

Մաշալյանը հրապարակել է իր քայլերը մեկնաբանող նամակ` նշելով, որ հրաժարականի որոշումը կայացրել է փետրվարի 13-ին տեղի ունեցած հոգևոր խորհրդի ժամանակ Աթեշյանի ցուցաբերած վարքի պատճառով: Նա նաև տեղեկացրել է, որ չի պատրաստվում իր թեկնածությունն առաջադրել Պոլսո Հայոց պատրիարքի ընտրություններում և հեռանալու է Ստամբուլից:

Մաշալյանը ներկայացրել է պատրիարքի աթոռը թափուր հայտարարելուց հետո նոր պատրիարքի ընտրություն անցկացնելու կարգը` ցույց տալով գործընթացը խափանելու Աթեշյանի ջանքերը: «Պատրիարքի աթոռը թափուր հայտարարելուց անմիջապես հետո պետք է տեղապահ ընտրվեր: Սակայն Արամ սրբազանը, ամեն տեսակ քմահաճություն անելով և սպառնալով, այդ ընտրությանը դեմ դուրս եկավ»,- հայտնել է Մաշալյանը:

Նա պատմել է, որ եկեղեցու գլխավոր հոգևոր խորհուրդը չորս հոգևորականից բաղկացած հանձնաժողով է կազմել, որը պետք է իշխանություններին ներկայացվելիք դիմում  կազմեր նոր ընտրություն անցկացնելու վերաբերյալ: Սակայն Արամ Աթեշյանը թույլ չի տվել, որ նամակը ներկայացվի  Ստամբուլի նահանգապետարանին, ինչի պատճառով դիմումի ներկայացման գործընթացն առկախվել է:

 Անդրադառնալով հայկական Սուրբ Փրկիչ հիվանդանոցի հոգաբարձուների խորհրդի նախագահ Պետրոս Շիրինօղլուի և նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի հանդիպման ժամանակ հնչեցված այն հայտարարությանը, որ պատրիարքի ընտրությունները պետք է անցկացվեն սահմանադրական հանրաքվեից հետո` Մաշալյանը նշել է, որ դա պետք է լիներ ընտրական գործընթացն արագացնող լուր, սակայն պատրիարքական փոխանորդ Արամ Աթեշյանը դա օգտագործել է որպես ընտրություններից խուսանավելու հերթական պատրվակ: «Անտեսելով համայնքին տված խոսքը` նա առանց որևէ մեկի հետ խորհրդակցելու մամուլին հայտարարեց, որ ընտրություն անցկացնելու համար դիմում չի ներկայացվելու: Պատրիարքարանի հոգևոր խորհուրդը և ես` դրա նախագահը, այդ մասին մամուլից իմացանք»,- ընդգծել է եպիսկոպոսը:

Նա հայտնել է, որ փետրվարի 13-ի հոգևոր ժողովի ժամանակ առաջարկել է անմիջապես հանձնաժողովի կազմած դիմումը ներկայացնել նահանգապետարան, իսկ դրա բովանդակությունը հրապարակել համայնքի համար: Սակայն Աթեշյանն իրեն բնորոշ կերպով սպառնալիքներ է հնչեցրել` ասելով, որ կլքի հավաքը, ինչին ի պատասխան Սահակ սրբազանի առաջարկը մերժվել է:

«Ակնհայտ է, որ քանի դեռ Արամ սրբազանը Պոլսո պատրիարքական փոխանորդի պաշտոնում է, պատրիարքական ընտրությունները չեն կարող կայանալ: Արդեն բոլորը համակարծիք են, որ տիրող իրավիճակը, երբ պաշտոնը դատարկ է, իսկ քաոսը ավելի է խորանում, Արամ սրբազանի պատճառով ավելի է վատանում»,- հայտարարել է Մաշալյանը` ընդգծելով, որ հայկական եկեղեցու պատմության ընթացքում պատրիարքական աթոռը երբեք ութ տարի դատարկ չի մնացել: «Իր լիազորություններն օգտագործելով ութ տարի մանիպուլյացիա իրականացնելը, սեփական պաշտոնը չարաշահելը հանցավոր բնույթ ունեն, և համաձա յն եկեղեցական օրենքների նա արժանի է պատժի»,- նշել է եպիսկոպոսը` հայտարարելով, որ հրաժարական է տալիս հոգևոր խորհրդի նախագահի պաշտոնից:

«Հոգևորականներ, ղեկավարներ և ժողովուրդ` ինձ միայնակ թողեցիք: Սա պարտության խոսքն է: Սակայն պատրվածը միայն ես չեմ, դուք բոլորդ եք: Կրկին հաղթեց միայն մեկ անձ»,- եզրափակել է նամակը եպիսկոպոս Սահակ Մաշալյանը:
