Անկանոն քունը կարող է շիզոֆրենիայի ախտանիշներ հարուցել, կարծում են բրիտանացի գիտնականները:
Նյարդաբանները, ուսումնասիրելով քնի խանգարումների ու շիզոֆրենիայի միջև կապը, պարզել են, որ անկանոն քունը կարող է շիզոֆրենիայի պատճառ դառնալ, իսկ քնի շարունակական բնույթ կրող խանգարումները կարող են նույնիսկ հոգեկան խանգարումներ առաջացնել:
Հետազոտության ընթացքում գիտնականներն ու նյարդաբանները ուսումնասիրել են անկանոն քնի ազդեցությունը լաբորատոր առնետների ուղեղի վրա՝ արձանագրելով քնի ժամանակ ուղեղի էլեկտրական ակտիվությունը։
Արդյունքում պարզվել է, որ անբավարար քունը ազդում է տրամադրության, ուշադրության և սթրեսի հաճախականության վրա: Ավելին, այն կարող է մղձավանջների, հիշողության կորստի պատճառ դառնալ:
Քնից երկար ժամանակ զրկվելը կարող է հանգեցնել զառանցանքների: Գիտնականները նաև ենթադրում են, որ քնի մշտական պակասը կարող է անգամ տվյալ հիվանդության պատճառ, այլ ոչ թե հետեւանք դառնալ։
Հետազոտության հեղինակներն նաևպարզել են, որ անկանոն քնի արդյունում ուղեղի նկարը շատ նման է շիզոֆրենիայով հիվանդի ուղեղի նկարին:
