Ամերիկացի գիտնականները վերջին շրջանում անցկացրած հետազոտության արդյունքների վրա հիմնվելով հարբուխի մասին նոր տվյալներ են հաղորդել: Նրանք պնդում են, որ հարբուխը կարող է լինել ոչ միայն մրսածության նշան, այլ նաև մի շարք հիվանդությունների նախանշան: Նրանք պնդում են, որ քթից արտադրությունը իմունային համակարգի վիճակի պատկերն է:
Հետազոտողները հետազոտության արդյունքում հանգեցին այն եզրակացության, որ հարբուխի միջոցով կարելի է որոշել առկա հիվանդության շրջանը և իմունային համակարգի գործունեության մակարդակը:
Քթից արտադրության թափանցիկության և գույնի միջոցով կարելի է պարզել թե ինչ է տեղի ունենում օրգանիզմում: Եթե այն արտահայտված թափանցիկ է, ապա առողջության հետ կապված խնդիրներ չկան:
Եթե արտադրությունը մածուցիկ է, սպիտակավուն կամ դեղնավուն, նշանակում է օրգանիզմում վիրուս կա: Այս դեպքում իմունային համակարգն արտադրում է մեծ քանակությամբ արյան բջիջներ, ինչն էլ նպաստում է վերին շնչառական ուղիները պատող մածուցիկ արտադրության առաջացմանը:
Հետազոտողները հավելում են, որ որքան արտահայտված է քթային լորձի գույնը, այնքան լավ է:
Քթային արտադրության կանաչ գույնը տագնապային ազդանշան է: Գիտնականները պարզել են, որ այդ գույնի լորձն առաջանում է օրգանիզմի կողմից միելոպերօքսիդազա ֆերմենտի արտադրության հետևանքով: Այս գործընթացը կապված է իմունիտետի որոշակի ռեակցիաների հետ, որոնք հնարավոր են միայն այն դեպքերում, երբ հիվանդության հետ պայքարելու ուժ այլևս չկա:
