Լորդերի պալատը մերժեց Brexit-ի շուրջ ամփոփիչ համաձայնագիրը հանրաքվեի դնելու առաջարկը

Բրիտանական խորհրդարանի Լորդերի պալատը փետրվարի 27-ին մերժել Է ԵՄ-ի կազմից Մեծ Բրիտանիայի դուրս գալու մասին Լոնդոնի եւ Բրյուսելի միջեւ հանրագումարային համաձայնագիրը համազգային հանրաքվեի դնելու առաջարկը:
 
Brexit-ի ընթացակարգն սկսելու մասին օրինագծի (բիլլի) նման ուղղումով հանդես են եկել բրիտանական խորհրդարանի վերին պալատի մի խումբ անդամներ, որոնք ներկայացնում են Պահպանողական եւ Լեյբորիստական կուսակցությունները, ինչպես նաեւ Լիբերալ դեմ ոկրատների կուսակցությունը:
 
Բիլլը վարչապետ Թերեզա Մեյին օժտում Է Եվրամիության մասին Լիսաբոնի պայմանագրի 50-րդ հոդվածը կիրառելու իրավունքով, որը նախատեսում Է երկրից ԵՄ-ի դուրս գալու գործընթացի գործարկումը: Տեւական քննարկումներից հետո Լորդերի պալատի անդամները որոշում ընդունեցին ուղղումը չդնել քվեարկության:
Ներկայում օրինագծի ուղղումների քննարկումը շարունակվում Է: Այդ գործընթացը պետք Է ավարտվի մարտի 1-ին: Օրինագծի վերջին՝ երրորդ, ընթերցման քննարկումը նշանակված Է մարտի 7-ին:
 
Փետրվարի սկզբին խորհրդարանի ստորին պալատը առանց փոփոխությունների հավանություն Է տվել օրինագծի հակիրճ տեքստին, որը վաղկացած Է ընդամենը 137 բառից: Եթե Լորդերի պալատը նույնպես մերժի առաջարկված բոլոր ուղղումները, փաստաթուղթը կներկայացվի Մեծ Բրիտանիայի Եղիսաբեթ Երկրորդ թագուհու ստորագրմանը եւ ստորագրումից հետո կստանա օրենքի կարգավիճակ: 
Թերեզա Մեյն ավելի վաղ խոստացել Է 50-րդ հոդվածը կիրառել մինչեւ մարտի վերջը, բայց մինչ այդ նրան հարկավոր Է «կանաչ լույս» ստանալ խորհրդարանից, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
