Սիրիայի ժողովրդի դեմ ագրեսիա կատարող կողմերից մեկը հայ ժողովրդի նկատմամբ ցեղասպանություն իրականացնող նույն կողմն է:

Այս մասին Հայաստանի և Սիրիայի միջև դիվանագիտական հարաբերությունների հաստատման 25-ամյակն նվիրված ուղերձում ասել է Սիրիայի փոխվարչապետ, արտաքին գործերի և սփյուռքի նախարար Ուալիդ ալ­Մուալլիմը: Ուալիդ ալ­Մուալլիմն իր ուղերձում նշել է, որ Հայաստանի և Սիրիայի միջև դիվանագիտական հարաբերությունների հաստատումը մարմնավորում է սիրիացի և հայ ժողովուրդների պատմական կապերը և արտահայտում քաղաքական, տնտեսական, սոցիալական և մշակութային ոլորտներում հարաբերությունները զարգացնելու կամքը:

Նախարար Մուալլիմն ընդգծել է, որ Սիրիան՝ իր քաղաքական ղեկավարությամբ, կառավարությամբ և ժողովրդով, ամենայն գնահատանքով է դիտում բարեկամ Հայաստանի նպաստավոր դիրքորոշումները՝ Սիրիայի դեմ ահաբեկչական ագրեսիայի նկատմամբ: Սիրիայի արտգործնախարարը նշել է, որ Սիրիայի ժողովրդի դեմ ագրեսիան կատարող կողմերից մեկը հայ ժողովրդի նկատմամբ ցեղասպանություն իրականացնող նույն կողմն է, որի քաղաքականությունը խարսխված է միահեծան իշխանության և սուլթանական սին երազանքների վրա, ինչը դատապարտված է ձախողման և ամենավատ հետևանքներ կունենա ագրեսորի համար:

Ուալիդ ալ­Մուալլիմը հավելել է, որ Սիրիան, որը սկսել է հաղթանակներ արձանագրել ահաբեկիչների դեմ, վստահ է, որ այն բարեկամները, ովքեր նրա կողքին կանգնեցին ագրեսիայի ժամանակ, նրան ձեռք կմեկնեն ահաբեկչության ավերածությունները վերականգնելու համար: Սա բացառիկ առիթ է, որ բոլոր ոլորտներում զարգացնենք մեր երկու երկրների միջև համագործակցությունը:

Ուալիդ ալ­Մուալլիմը, շնորհավորելով ՀՀ արտգործնախարար Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանին երկու պետությունների միջև դիվանագիտական հարաբերությունների հաստատման 25-ամյակի կապակցությամբ, բարեկամ Հայաստանին մաղթել է զարգացում և բարգավաճում:
