Մարտի 8-ը Կանանց միջազգային օրն է կամ պարզապես կանանց տոնը։ Այս օրն ընդունված է նվերներ մատուցել կանանց ու աղջիկներին, շնորհավորել ու հաճոյախոսություններ անել։
Մարտի 8-ին սկսվում է, այսպես կոչված, կանանց միամսյակը, որն ավարտվում է ապրիլի 7-ին։ Այս ամսվա ընթացքում կանայք հնարավորինս շատ են ուշադրության կենտրոնում լինում:
Ահա, թե ինչպես է առաջացել այս տոնը։ Մարտի 8-ը կապվում է Կլարա Ցետկինի անվան հետ։ Հենց նա էր այն կինը, որն առաջարկեց այդ օրը նշել կանանց իրավունքների պաշտպանության ու հավասարության տոնը։ Ինչպես նաև 1857 թվականին աշխատող կանայք կազմակերպեցին պատմության խոշորագույն ցույցերից մեկն ու դուրս եկան փողոց։ Ժամանակի ընթացքում այս տոնն ամբողջովին կորցրել է քաղաքական երանգավորումն ու դարձել պարզապես կանանց շնորհավորելու օր։
